(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors brought a wave of '90s nostalgia to The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on August 6, 2026, drawing a wall-to-wall crowd for a night built around songs that have been part of fans' lives for decades.
Spin Doctors opened the show, setting the stage for an evening that only grew louder and more energized as the sun went down. By the time Gin Blossoms walked out, the Summer Stage was packed, with fans filling nearly every inch of the outdoor venue.
Formed in Tempe, Arizona, Gin Blossoms delivered the kind of set that immediately transported the crowd back to the height of '90s alternative rock. The band features Robin Wilson on lead vocals, Jesse Valenzuela on guitar and vocals, Bill Leen on bass, Andy Herron on drums, and Scotty Johnson on guitar and backing vocals.
From the first familiar notes, the audience was fully in it. Songs including "Follow You Down," "Found Out About You," "Allison Road," "Hey Jealousy" and "Til I Hear It From You" became massive singalongs, with thousands of voices carrying across the venue. These were not songs the crowd simply remembered. They were songs they knew by heart.

As darkness settled over Asbury Park, a cool ocean breeze began moving in from the nearby boardwalk, bringing some relief from the summer heat just as the anticipation for Blues Traveler reached its peak.
For Blues Traveler, the night also carried a distinctly New Jersey connection. Formed in Princeton, New Jersey, the band features John Popper on vocals and harmonica, Chan Kinchla on guitar, Brendan Hill on drums, Tad Kinchla on bass and Ben Wilson on keyboards.
The moment Popper and the band took the stage, the crowd erupted. Blues Traveler wasted no time showing off their jam-band roots, opening songs with long instrumental passages. Blues Traveler tore through a set filled with the songs fans had come hoping to hear, including "Hook," with Popper's unmistakable harmonica slicing through the warm night air. Around him, the band stretched into the loose, energetic musicianship that has helped make their live performances a draw for more than three decades.
Everywhere you looked, people were dancing, singing and shouting along. For many in the crowd, the songs were tied to high school, college, road trips, mixtapes and summers long gone. Hearing them again, shoulder-to-shoulder with thousands of other fans at one of the Jersey Shore's most iconic venues, made the night feel less like a typical concert and more like a shared memory brought back to life.

The tour's camaraderie came through onstage as well, with Spin Doctors frontman Chris Barron returning later in the evening to perform alongside Blues Traveler, giving the packed crowd another unexpected moment to celebrate.
By the final stretch of the night, the Summer Stage was still buzzing. The ocean breeze had picked up, the crowd was still singing and the familiar songs kept coming.
For one summer night in Asbury Park, it felt like the '90s were back.
