
(LEONIA, NJ) -- The World Premiere of The Old Ladies Bar by Natasha Caroline Lowery Rivers is a co-production between The Players Guild of Leonia and Kaleidoscope Ensemble. Directed by TS Murphy, the production takes place weekends from September 18-27, 2026.
The play takes place over a hot and hazy weekend in which old friends gather over memories, unresolved conflicts, liquor, laughter, and a whole lot of love... "just don't call it a juke joint!"
The cast includes Valerie Johnson (Peaches), Donniee Barnes (Freddie Mae), Taylor Worrell (Wanda Marie), Bettina Peets (Lettie), and Hope Harley (Mary Alice).
Performances take place Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 130 Grand Avenue in Leonia, New Jersey.
Founded in 1919, The Players Guild of Leonia is a non-profit, resident acting company at the Civil War Drill Hall Theater (built in 1859). They are New Jersey's oldest continuing community theater group, and five minutes from the George Washington Bridge and a short bus ride from Manhattan. Their historic Civil War Drill Hall Theater in Leonia is surrounded by the towns of Englewood, Fort Lee, Palisades Park and Teaneck, New Jersey.
Kaleidoscope Ensemble is a community theater that seeks to create a space for people of color & culture to present narratives through theatrical productions that foster an understanding and appreciation of cultural heritage through the performing arts.
