(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- Teaneck New Theatre presents Taming of the Shrew in Atlantic Street Park on July 29, August 5 & 12, 2026 as part of HACPAC's Shakespeare in the Park. The free performances start at 7:30pm each night. The production is directed by Fred Alvaro.
The Taming of the Shrew is a sharp, spirited comedy packed with wit, chemistry, and playful chaos. Set in Padua, this beloved Shakespeare classic follows the fiery Katherine and the clever Petruchio in a lively battle of wills full of humor, surprises, and irresistible energy.
Petruchio wants a wealthy wife, and nothing else matters—she can be ugly as sin and a holy terror. He meets Kate. She's beautiful. But she's a holy terror. And Petruchio spends the rest of the play trying to tame her.
Performances take place Wednesday, July 29th at 7:30pm; Wednesday, August 5 at 7:30pm; and Wednesday, August 12th at 7:30pm. Atlantic Street Park is located at 102 State Street in Hackensack (behind the Hackensack Performing Arts Center).
