(HOBOKEN, NJ) -- Mile Square Theatre's summer program students present Roald Dahl's Matilda Jr. from July 31 to August 2, 2026. The summer program includes students aged 7-15.
Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR, the musical, a gleefully witty ode to the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, this story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson.
Performances take place Friday, July 31 at 7:00pm; Saturday, August 1 at 7:00pm; and Sunday, August 2 at 3:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 1400 Clinton Street in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Founded in 2003 by Chris O'Connor, Mile Square Theatre has contributed to the arts and cultural landscape in Hudson County and greater NJ since its inception. In 2015, they moved into their current space, a 120-seat theatre with an rehearsal studio at 1400 Clinton Street. In 2018, they added “The Annex” at 420 14th Street which functions as an additional rehearsal and performance studio. They are a 501c3 non-profit institution.
