(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Nostalgia takes center stage this August at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) with tribute shows dedicated to the legendary music of Bob Weir & the Grateful Dead and the 1960s Woodstock era.
Dead On Live comes to MPAC on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $35-$67 (all fees included). With respect and reverence, Dead On Live celebrates and pays tribute to the Other One, Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir. Multi-instrumentalist Marc Muller directs this celebration capturing important and beloved periods of the Grateful Dead’s long, illustrious and stylistically diverse career.
For this special show, Dead On Live will present a set of their trademark “Dead On” note for note fan faves from Bob’s extensive catalog with the Dead, as well as his solo albums. Then, inspired by Bob Weir’s wonderful recent side project The Wolf Brothers, DOL will welcome special guests, including a powerhouse horn section led by slide trumpet player Steven Bernstein (Levon Helm, Hot Tuna, Sexmob, Lounge Lizards) along with Tom Timko (BS&T, Gloria Estefan) and John Martin (Darlene Love), to present a set that reinterprets the freer, deeper, lush musical direction of his latest musical adventures. Deep emotion, funky fun, rocking and rolling classic Dead and family fan favorites will make for a truly memorable evening.
Glen Burtnik’s Summer of Love Concert comes to MPAC on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $45 - $79 (all fees included). The Summer of Love Concert re-creates the songs and the psychedelically flavored spirit of that incredible era that has influenced our daily life, its art, literature, fashion, attitudes and language, in a way that few other social movements have. You’ll hear your favorite songs from classic artists like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Dylan, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Marvin Gaye, Joe Cocker, Santana, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, The Temptations, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Band, Jefferson Airplane, The Turtles, The Beach Boys, Mamas and the Papas, The Grateful Dead, Country Joe, Procol Harum, Ike & Tina Turner, The Rascals, Chicago, Otis Redding, Sly and The Family Stone and more!
The Summer of Love Concert was created by Glen Burtnik, alumnus of Styx, the original Beatlemania on Broadway (he played Paul), touring bassist/vocalist with the current version of ELO, The Orchestra, member of The Weeklings, major label (A&M) solo recording artist and hit songwriter. "I've always had a playlist on my iPod named The Summer of Love. I'm actually a hippie at heart. The music of that era is probably what moves me the most," said Burtnik in a recent interview.
