
(ANNANDALE, NJ) -- We're off to see the wizard! Clinton Area Stage Troupe presents The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum with performances July 24, July 30-31, and August 1, 2026 in the North Hunterdon High School Theater. This beloved tale, in which a Kansas farm girl travels over the rainbow to discover the magical power of home, has entertained audiences for generations.
Follow the yellow brick road in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. The timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz, continues to thrill audiences worldwide.
You'll hear songs like “Over the Rainbow,” “Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead),” “If I Only Had a Brain/a Heart/the Nerve,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard (Follow the Yellow Brick Road),” “Jitterbug,” and “The Merry Old Land of Oz.” It features With Music & Lyrics by Harold Arlen & E.Y. Harburg; Background Music by Herbert Stothart; Dance and Vocal Arrangements by Peter Howard; and Orchestration by Larry Wilcox.
The Wizard of Oz is based upon the classic motion picture owned by Turner Entertainment Co. and distributed in all media by Warner Bros.This version, adapted by John Kane for the Royal Shakespeare Company, is a more faithful adaptation of the film. It recreates the dialogue and structure of the MGM classic nearly scene for scene, though it is adapted for live stage performance.
Performances take place July 24 at 7:00pm; July 30 at 7:00pm; July 31 at 7:00pm; and August 1 at 2:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The North Hunterdon High School Theater is located at 1445 NJ-31 in Annandale, New Jersey.

Clinton Area Stage Troupe is a group of individuals interested in the performing arts in the northern Hunterdon County region of New Jersey. CAST exists to provide artists with opportunities to practice their craft though dramatic and musical performances, and to enrich the community with uplifting and inspiring quality theatrical productions.
