(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library is hosting Snipping, Sticking, and Laughing Out Loud, a collage art exhibit by Michelle Dillon, from now until the end of August in the McConnell Gallery.
Michelle Dillon is an artist and teacher living and working in New Jersey. Her works often symbolically depict relationships and conflicts of the human spirit. They are created to get people to look and think twice, sometimes celebrating the ability to care, sometimes pointing out the paradoxes in life.
Regarding her collage work, Dillon says, “I love looking at pictures so it was natural for me to start collecting them and finding new ways of putting them together to make art. I create seamless layers of repurposed pictures from old books, magazines, and memorabilia to evoke unexpected schemes and fantasies… I hope this exhibit gives you a chuckle as you look closely at each artwork… I love to laugh and have fun. I hope you do too.”
More samples of Dillon’s work are available to view at mddillon.weebly.com.
This exhibit is free and open to the public during the branch’s normal operating hours. For more information, call 732-349-6200, or stop by the branch at 101 Washington Street.
