(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Ever wanted to see paintings which use water from the actual ocean? The Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library will host Cruel Sea with Manners, an art exhibit by Coastal Luck Studio, from now until the end of August 2026 in the Second Floor Gallery.

Coastal Luck is the creation of New York/New Jersey-based artist Alexander Taylor. Born in Flushing, Queens, Alexander Taylor is a visual artist and actor. With a B.A. in Communications and Media Arts and a minor in Theatre from SUNY New Paltz, his multidisciplinary background informs his expressive, nature-driven work. Entirely self-taught, Taylor draws deep inspiration from the sea, especially the Atlantic Ocean, which he often incorporates directly into his process by painting with purified ocean water.

Influenced by his Mediterranean heritage, he explores the beauty, power, and vulnerability of marine life. His artistic philosophy centers on empathy, ecology, and the interconnectedness of life – “ecosystem over egotism.” Taylor’s work highlights the essential power of the ocean, inviting viewers to reflect, connect, and remember that where there is water, there is life and the hope for renewal.

Taylor founded Coastal Luck Studio in 2020 and introduces followers to his unique perspectives through its website and Instagram.
