Roxey Ballet presents Mowgli's Jungle Adventure - A Thrilling Family Ballet Inspired by The Jungle Book

originally published: 05/14/2026

(EWING, NJ) -- Roxey Ballet invites audiences of all ages to journey deep into the jungle with Mowgli's Jungle Adventure on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the Villa Victoria Theater. This exciting family-friendly production brings the beloved story inspired by The Jungle Book to life through breathtaking dance, theatrical storytelling, colorful costumes, and imaginative choreography. Showtime is 2:00pm.

Presented as part of Roxey Ballet’s celebrated Children’s Classic Stories series, Mowgli’s Jungle Adventure follows a young man named Mowgli who was raised by wolves and shaped by the dangers of the jungle. He must find his place in the world—and ultimately decide where he belongs. Inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, this ballet features virtuosic choreography by Artistic Director Mark Roxey, set against vivid scenery that brings the wild jungle to life.

The evocative score by Czech composer Milan Svoboda blends traditional orchestral music with bold, anthemic moments influenced by European pop and jazz, reflecting his work as a pianist, bandleader, and—playfully—part-time wolf.

“This production is about imagination, adventure, teamwork, and discovering where you belong,” said Mark Roxey. “We are excited to welcome families into the jungle for an unforgettable theatrical experience filled with movement, storytelling, and wonder.”

In-person and virtual tickets are available for purchase online. The Villa Victoria Theater is located at 376 W Upper Ferry Road in Ewing, New Jersey. There is a free pre-performance dance workshop that begins at 1:00pm.

Mowgli is a family-friendly performance for audiences of all ages. The story encourages viewers to face their fears, embrace change, and move forward. Mark Roxey especially cherishes the ballet’s powerful ending, when Mowgli overcomes his fear and makes the brave choice to leave the jungle and his animal friends behind to begin a new life in the village of man.

Under the direction of Mark Roxey, the production combines professional artists, emerging performers, and community talent in a visually dynamic theatrical experience designed to captivate children and adults alike.
