(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Studio Players presents She Kills Monsters across three weekends from June 5-20, 2026. A comedic romp into the world of fantasy role-playing games! In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres and 90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.
She Kills Monsters follows Agnes Evans, a young woman reeling from the unexpected death of her teenage sister, Tilly. While cleaning out Tilly’s room, Agnes discovers a Dungeons & Dragons campaign notebook written by her sister.
In an attempt to connect with the sister she never truly knew, Agnes enlists the help of a local dungeon master to play through the adventure. As Agnes dives into the world of D&D, she meets Tilly’s alter ego—a fierce warrior known as Tillius the Paladin—and embarks on a fantastical journey filled with demons, dragons, and dark elves. Along the way, Agnes discovers that Tilly’s campaign is more than just a game; it’s a personal narrative filled with coded truths about Tilly’s struggles, friendships, and queerness.
The production is directed by Alec J. Wolf. The cast includes Courtney Mincolelli (Evil Gabbi), Dylan Myers (Steve), Frankie Perez (Orcus), Jessie Thiele (Vera/Narrator), Jillian Flynn (Agnes), Kelli Dylan (Tilly), May Riekenberg (Lilith), Miguel Vega (Chuck), Natalya ‘Artemys’ Kozlovski (Kallope), Pierce V. Lo (Miles), and Tyler McGeough (Evil Tina/Farrah).
Performances take place Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00pm and Sundays at 3:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online. The theater is located at 14 Alvin Place in Upper Montclair, New Jersey.
