(PARAMUS, NJ) -- Bergen Community College's talented Pop/Rock Ensemble returns to the stage for one electrifying night of '90s favorites with The Roots of Pop & Rock Volume III, a live tribute to the unforgettable sounds of this influential decade. Join the ensemble on a journey back to a time when alternative rock reshaped mainstream radio and pop music soared to new creative heights. The diverse array of artists being paid tribute to will run the gamut from Nirvana and Green Day to No Doubt and the Spice Girls to Selena and Shakira.
While most of the students performing missed out on living through the ‘90s, their enthusiasm for this pivotal decade coupled with hard work honing their musical skills promises to light up the stage for all attendees, whether they are re-living this golden age or experiencing its magic for the first time.
The Bergen Pop/Rock Ensemble, one of the first of its kind in the nation, continues to celebrate its 20th anniversary, having been founded in 2005 by Dr. Andy Krikun, who co-directs the ensemble with BCC alum Prof. Rod Shepard. Previous installments of the series have delighted audiences with tributes to the greatest songs of the ‘60s through ‘80s.
Volume III closes out the group’s homage to 20th century popular music on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 7:30pm at the college’s Ciccone Theatre in Paramus.
Tickets are available at tickets.bergen.edu and at the door (if still available) for $18 with discounted prices for students. Proceeds will go to the BCC Foundation music scholarships, helping students pursue their education at Bergen, which offers programs in music performance, production and business.
