Atlantic City Ballet to present "Carmen" and "Sleeping Beauty"

originally published: 03/19/2026

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The Atlantic City Ballet presents two extraordinary classics this spring, Carmen and Sleeping Beauty. The first is Carmen, which will be presented on Thursday, March 26 at Caesars Circus Maximus Theater, and Saturday, March 28 at The Strand Theater in Lakewood. Carmen is a feast for the senses, pairing powerful choreography with George Bizet's iconic composition.

When Don Jose, a Spanish officer, falls for a Romani girl named Carmen, his world crumbles as he's wound into an obsessive, jealous love spell. As Carmen tires of him and becomes fascinated with Escamillo, a bullfighter, Don Jose's passion leads to disgrace, and even murder! Full of passion, emotion and anger, this ballet, choreographed by Phyllis Papa, will win your heart.

Sleeping Beauty will be presented on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Caesars Circus Maximus Theater. All performances begin at 7:00pm. Audiences will be swept away into a world of kings, queens, fairy godmothers, and storybook creatures. Set to Tchaikovsky's fabulous and familiar score, and combined with Artistic Director Phyllis Papa's stunning choreography, Sleeping Beauty is a timeless classic you can enjoy with the entire family. With special appearances by fairy tale favorites like Puss-In-Boots and Little Red Riding Hood, and of course, that kiss from the handsome prince, Atlantic City Ballet's Sleeping Beauty will create a memory to cherish happily ever after.

The powerful emotion of Carmen and the fairy tale ambience of Sleeping Beauty are two distinct, yet equally unforgettable evenings of dance, music, and storytelling.

Tickets for both performances can be purchased at www.acballet.org. Caesars Circus Maximus Theater is located at 2100 Pacific Avenue in Atlantic City.  The Strand Theater is located at 400 Clifton Avenue in Lakewood.
