
(SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ) -- JB & the JB Blues Band continue their month-long Keeping the Blues Alive' 2026 Tour with a special performance at "Rhythm & Roots: A Tribute To Black History Month," taking place at Shady Rest Country Club on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The event runs from 6:30pm to 11:00pm. The Glenn & Oria Band will perform as well.
JB is none other than bassist-vocalist James 'JB' Barnes', whose critically-lauded new album My Mississippi Roots was released this past November and continues to receive international reviews and airplay. It's produced by Anthony Kirzan (Spin Doctors), who also plays guitar and provides lead vocals. Barnes (pictured below) also fronts BBD Rhythm & Blues Band.
The band includes Steven Braxon (vocals), Moedene (guitar & vocals), Tommy "Earthquate" Doud (drums & vocals), and James "JB" Barnes (bass & vocals).
Live music begins at 8:00pm. Tickets are $50 with proceeds to benefit Shady Rest Country Club, the nation's first African American-owned and operated Country Club. Shady Rest Country Club is located at 820 Jerusalem Street in Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
The Glenn & Oria Band includes Oria (vocals & flutes), Glenn Alexander (guitar & vocals), John Conte (bass), and Gary Dates (drums).
