(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey is proud to announce that its flagship DiscoveryTix Program returns for the 2026 season through a new collaboration with Johnson & Johnson.

DiscoveryTix was first launched in 2022 to broaden access to the arts, providing $10 tickets to all State Theatre-presented performances for individuals who participate in public assistance programs such as WIC, SNAP, Medicaid, and the New Jersey Families First Discovery Program. Thanks to the support of Johnson & Johnson, DiscoveryTix ensures that all members of our community—regardless of income—can enjoy world-class performances at State Theatre.

"State Theatre serves as a cultural cornerstone, enhancing the lives of individuals from all walks of life across New Jersey," said Sarah K. Chaplin, President & CEO of State Theatre New Jersey. "Through the DiscoveryTix Program, we're making our wide range of live performances more accessible—bringing people together through shared experiences that foster lasting connections with the performing arts."

Since the historic State Theatre reopened as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1988, it has been committed to making performing arts and arts education accessible through free and heavily subsidized tickets to our most vulnerable populations. State Theatre New Jersey's mission is to present the finest national and international performing artists, to provide arts education programs to build future arts lovers and leaders. State Theatre strives to make the arts available, accessible, and inclusive—for all.

By lowering financial barriers, State Theatre New Jersey and Johnson & Johnson demonstrate their mutual dedication to strengthening communities by making the arts accessible to everyone. Johnson & Johnson has been a longtime supporter of the DiscoveryTix Program, making it possible for families to enjoy meaningful and enriching cultural experiences.

State Theatre New Jersey, a private 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, celebrated its 100th Anniversary after major renovations in December 2021. Originally built as a silent film and vaudeville palace, State Theatre's historic significance was honored by PBS by featuring it in its documentary series, Treasures of New Jersey. Having played a significant role in revitalizing New Brunswick—crowned "Jersey's Best Destination of the Year" for 2025 by Jersey's Best magazine—State Theatre resides in the heart of the city's arts district.

Today, State Theatre is the largest performing arts center in Central New Jersey and has welcomed more than six million people through its doors since reopening as a nonprofit performing arts center in 1988. State Theatre New Jersey is a cornerstone of the cultural vitality of Middlesex County and averages a total economic impact on New Brunswick and the surrounding area of more than $18 million a year. The mainstage programs have featured high-caliber artists such as Diana Ross, Tom Jones, Kevin Hart, Ringo Starr, Melissa Etheridge, John Leguizamo, Harry Connick, Jr., Diana Krall, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. Programming spans all genres for all ages, including Broadway, orchestra, dance, comedy, rock, pop, jazz, and more.

State Theatre New Jersey's programs are made possible by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. Grant funding has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund. For information on events, go to MiddlesexCountyCulture.com.
