Dance is the physical embodiment of emotion and perception, an allegory of our journey through life.
Nimbus Dance will present the world premiere of ANIMA, Samuel Pott’s evening-length work that confronts our most primal and precarious bond: humankind’s relationship with the natural world. Featuring three pieces that have been developed over 10 years by Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott and acclaimed composer Qasim Naqvi. The upcoming performances mark the first time that audiences will experience the completed 3-part cycle as it was originally envisioned.

Performances take place Friday, January 30 at 8:00pm; Saturday, January 31 at 8:00pm; Friday, February 6 at 8:00pm; Saturday, February 7 at 8:00pm; and Sunday, February 8 at 3:00pm. Gina Marie Rodriguez is an award-winning screenwriter, director, and actress. Her foray into filmmaking began at a young age as a way to avoid public speaking in school. From there, it grew into a love of telling stories and creating new worlds. Gina Marie boasts a Bronze Remi win from Worldfest Houston, Best Female Filmmaker from the Cosmic Film Festival, and a Best Actress in a Comedy from the Hang Onto Your Shorts Film Festival alongside nominations from the Golden Door International Film Festival, Official Latino Film and Arts Festival and Los Angeles Cinefest among others.
