originally published: 01/11/2026

(WEST MILFORD, NJ) -- The North Jersey Blues Society (NJBS) presents NJBS Showcase Series: Women in Blues on Sunday, March 8, 2026, coinciding with International Women’s Day, at the West Milford Elks Lodge. Doors open at 1:00pm, with music beginning at 1:30pm.

This powerful afternoon of live music honors the artistry, resilience, and influence of women in blues, featuring three exceptional performers: Miss Emily, Christine Santelli, and Geminii Dragon featuring Linwood Taylor.

“Women have always been at the heart of the blues—shaping its sound, carrying its stories, and pushing the music forward generation after generation,” said Cristy Benvenutti, President of the North Jersey Blues Society. “Presenting this showcase on International Women’s Day is both intentional and meaningful. It’s our way of celebrating these extraordinary artists while reaffirming our commitment to visibility, equity, and support for women in the blues community.”

The NJBS Showcase Series: Women in Blues underscores the North Jersey Blues Society’s mission to celebrate blues music, support artists, and grow the blues community through inclusive, high‐impact live programming.

Tickets are available for purchase online. The West Milford Elks Lodge is located at 1860 Union Valley Road in West Milford, New Jersey.

Miss Emily delivers a commanding blend of grit, grace, and gospel‐tinged soul. A multiple award‐winning artist with an international following, she is celebrated for her riveting live performances, powerhouse vocals, and emotionally charged songwriting. Channeling influences such as Etta James and Mavis Staples while forging her own unmistakable sound, Miss Emily brings fiery authenticity and uplifting spirit to every stage.

Christine Santelli, a New York City‐based singer‐songwriter and guitarist with global acclaim, seamlessly weaves blues, Americana, roots rock, and soul. Known for her smoky vocals, masterful guitar work, and deeply personal storytelling, Santelli’s performances reflect the lived‐in honesty of an artist who has truly walked the blues path.

Geminii Dragon, one of the most exciting rising voices in blues‐rock, brings explosive energy, raw emotion, and fearless intensity to the stage. She is joined by acclaimed guitarist Linwood Taylor, a veteran of the Washington, D.C. blues scene whose searing tone and soulful phrasing have supported numerous blues legends. Together, they deliver a performance that is bold, soulful, and unforgettable.

The North Jersey Blues Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and advancing blues music through live events, education programs, artist support, and community engagement.
