(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- On November 21-22, 2025 from 6:00pm-8:00pm each night, art629 will host a 2 night pop-up event titled "UNCENSORED" responding to the growing climate of censorship and cultural suppression in the United States. This event is free and open to the public. The artwork will be on display until November 30th.

The exhibit features work and performances by local artists addressing themes of silencing, political and patriarchal control, and freedom of expression. There will be paintings by Jill Alexander, Pat Hutchinson, and Rob Santello, as well as by Brittany James, the creator of this event. There will also be photographs by Kristen Tanchak and mosaics by Sarah Fishbein.

In addition to visual art, they will have an hour of poetry on Saturday from 6:30pm-7:30pm hosted by spoken word artists Blush Ellis and Rye Carraway who will be reading banned poetry and a few of their own poems. They will also have Kamelia De Soucey and Nikki Nordquist reading their original poetry.

There will also be an Interactive Wall of Freedom - an open space where visitors can write what they are afraid of or afraid to say on the gallery walls.

art629 invites the public to witness, participate, and stand in solidarity with those whose voices are threatened or erased. Reclaim your own voice in our interactive art experience. Experience what it means to create, speak, and exist freely in a world that silences dissent. Each poem or work of art becomes a form of rebellion, transforming silence into presence.

Art is resistance. Expression is a right. Silence is not an option.

This exhibit is part of "Fall of Freedom", a nationwide wave of creative resistance aimed at uniting the arts community in defiance of authoritarian forces.

Art629 is located at 629 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It is a gallery dedicated to the exhibition of fine contemporary art and our objective is to give all artists a voice. They believe in the power of art to connect people and ideas, and they strive to bring new perspectives to the region. At art629, they provide a space for artists to create and explore their passion through painting classes, life drawing, and private art lessons.
