(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Ocean County College invites the community to join them for an exciting day of basketball and fun activities as they celebrate OCC veterans and active military members on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the OCC gymnasium (Building 29), located on the main campus in Toms River.
The event will feature basketball games, prizes, and a special recognition ceremony to pay tribute to those who serve. Guests can enjoy both men’s and women’s basketball matchups, meet Rudder, the Coast Guard therapy dog, and take part in a variety of fun and meaningful activities throughout the day.
Schedule of Events:
12:00pm – Women’s Basketball Game
12:30pm–1:30pm – Meet Rudder, Coast Guard Therapy Dog
1:00pm–3:00pm – Veteran & Military Hospitality Room
1:55pm–2:10pm – Recognition Ceremony
2:10pm–2:15pm – Team Warm-Up / Starting Lineups
2:15pm – Men’s Basketball Game
Guests are encouraged to bring donations to support the OCC Veterans and Military Resource Center (VMRC). Suggested items include:
* Gift cards (ShopRite, Visa, Walmart, etc.)
* Single-serving snacks, soups, and chicken/tuna pouches
* Protein shakes, juice boxes, beef jerky sticks
* Travel-size deodorant, bathroom wipes, Wisps® toothbrushes
