Middlesex College presents "Haunting Melodies"

(EDISON, NJ) -- Middlesex College's Visual, Performing, and Media Arts Department presents Haunting Melodies October 16-18, 2025 at the Studio Theater in Edison. The musical event, directed by David Shirley, will submerge the audience into a world of spooky songs and scenes from Broadway favorites and the American Songbook.

The ensemble of performers will descend upon the stage for a limited engagement, conjuring phantoms from Broadway to Hollywood in an evening full of frights, cries, and unforgettable music. The score includes haunting melodies from The Nightmare Before Christmas, Into the Woods, The Little MermaidBeetlejuice, and more.

"This is more than a concert – it's a séance set to music," said Anna DeMers, assistant professor of theater at Middlesex College. "We're creating an immersive atmosphere where the audience can experience the humor, heartache, and haunting beauty of these timeless tales. It's the perfect way to get into the spirit of the season."

Performances take place October 16, 17, and 18 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for veterans/seniors, and free for students with ID. Tickets can be purchased at the door with cash only and seating is limited. Tickets for the October 16 performance are specially priced at $5 for adults during the College's Harvestfest. The Studio Theater at Middlesex College is located at 2600 Woodbridge Avenue in Edison, New Jersey.
