(RAHWAY, NJ) -- Mayor Raymond A. Giacobbe and the Rahway City Council proudly present the inaugural Viva Rahway: Italian Heritage, a celebration of Italian culture and community, taking place Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 2:00pm–5:00pm in Downtown Rahway.

For one afternoon, Rahway's Main Street will transform into a lively piazza filled with the flavors, sights, and sounds of Italy. Guests can enjoy authentic tastings from local restaurants, explore a classic Italian car show, and stroll through an Italian-inspired art alley, while a live DJ keeps the energy high. The festivities will also include games, giveaways, and activities designed for families and friends to enjoy together, making it a true celebration of community spirit.

"Rahway is proud to be a city that embraces its cultural diversity," said Mayor Giacobbe. "Our Viva Rahway celebration is an opportunity for families and friends to come together, honor Italian heritage, and celebrate with friends and neighbors right here at home."

The event highlights Rahway's commitment to cultural enrichment while supporting local businesses, artists, and organizations. Whether savoring traditional dishes, admiring vintage automobiles, or enjoying art and music in the heart of the city, residents and visitors alike will find plenty to celebrate at this new annual tradition.

This event is free and open to the public, inviting everyone from Rahway and beyond to gather, experience Italian heritage, and join in the festivities. Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring family and friends, share in the celebration, and make this first Viva Rahway an afternoon to remember.
