Gillian Perry

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Institute of Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will present an online program, "Anne Frank – Her Life and Surprising Legacy," featuring author Gillian Perry, Friday, September 19, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am.

Gillian Perry will share the remarkable story of how Anne’s magical thread has woven itself around the world: from the hard-fought publication of Anne’s diary in 1947 (and how it nearly didn’t happen); to Otto Frank’s creation of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam; to how millions of people around the world—some in desperate and difficult situations—have been affected by learning about Anne Frank.

The lecture will contextualize Anne Frank educational projects against the background of world history and explain her impact on some of the world’s most turbulent and violent regions.

Listeners also will hear about some of the well-known people who have been involved in Perry’s work, including Nelson Mandela, UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, Steven Spielberg, and Angelina Jolie, as well as music legends and royalty. The one-hour, online presentation will offer some surprising insights.

The program is free of charge and open to the public. Interested participants should register here.
