(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- On Saturday, August 16, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, the Powerhouse Arts District will burst with creativity during Art Crawl Downtown, a self-guided tour of galleries, studios, and striking new public art installations. Produced by ARTS 14C, this summer celebration invites the community to explore Jersey City's thriving downtown arts scene while enjoying exclusive food and drink discounts from local favorites.
Now in its fourth year, ARTS 14C’s Art Crawls have become anticipated events on the city’s cultural calendar. Over the years the Crawls have showcased Jersey City’s various arts neighborhoods: Downtown, Bergen Lafayette, the Heights and Journal Square. Starting in 2026, each June will see the highlighting of a different neighborhood outside of downtown.
“Art Crawl is about connection – between artists and audiences, neighborhoods and neighbors,” says Robinson Holloway, CEO of ARTS 14C. “It’s a celebration of the creative energy that makes Jersey City a cultural destination, as well as the local businesses that contribute to that vitality.”
How to Participate:
Crawlers of all ages begin at Art Crawl HQ (157B 1st Street, Project 14C) to pick up a map and a sticker that unlocks the food and beverage discounts, then explore the walkable locations of the Powerhouse Arts District at their own pace. With perfect summer weather forecasted, the afternoon promises a lively mix of art, community, and discovery – all free and open to the public.
Among the highlights are the studios of the 13 Special Project Residents at Project 14C, who are all one third of the way through varying ambitious arts projects, which will be completed by October 3. There are solo exhibitions at the Canopy Hotel, Art House Gallery, ART150 Lobby Gallery and ArtWall JC, as well acclaimed group shows at Novado Gallery, Outliers Gallery, ART150 Gallery and Gallery 14C. Art150 and Project 14C will have additional artist studios open.
Neighborhood food and beverage partners offering discounts to all Art Crawlers are: Alfalfa, Canopy by Hilton, Downtown Yogurt and Two Boots Pizza.
