(NEWARK, NJ) -- A special edition of Brick City Comedy Revue for the 20th Annual Newark Pride Week will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Newark Local Beer. The lineup includes Eman El-Husseini, Brian Rabadeau, Alison Grillo, and musical guest The IZM. The special guest co-host is Alisha Day. Showtime is 8:00pm.
Eman El-Husseini is a Canadian-Palestinian comedian currently living in NYC. She has performed at the “ Just For Laughs Festival” in Montreal and festivals in Toronto and Australia, and has multiple appearances on Canadian television. El Husseini has recorded two comedy albums, “Unveiled” and “Handsome Daughter.” Eman brings sharp wit and unapologetic honesty to the realities of life—genocide, divorce, and weed gummies included.
Brian Rabadeau is a Newark-based comedian and a creative, known for his work in the New York comedy scene. He is a producer of Rabid Dog Comedy and has been featured on the Jersey City Comedy Festival.
Alison Grillo is probably the only woman of transsexual experience ever to appear on NBC's Last Comic Standing. Her comedy draws on experience in many compelling roles: college English professor, published fiction writer, journalist, first-generation collegian, only child, thinker, dreamer. Dozens of colleges and universities in all regions of the U.S. have welcomed her to their hallowed halls, and the University of Cambridge in England had her participate in a comedy debate at their venerable Union Society.
Special guest co-host: Alisha Day is a Fabulous Drag performer born in Newark, NJ. She is an essential worker by day, working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. By night she is a fabulous drag queen. Alisha is known for her high energy performances and fabulous hosting. She performs all throughout the tri-state area. Alisha Day is host and co-producer of Brick City Drag with her business partner Dr. Kareem Willis.
Musical Guest: The IZM.’s first album, King For A Day, garnered him a placement in Spike Lee’s Da Sweet Blood of Jesus in 2015. In 2019, he released his inaugural house album, Black Boy Wonderment, and the latest release, 2022’s Mr. Saturday Night, follows in its path. In 2020, his music video for “Broken Like” received international film festival award nominations and recognition. The music video received the award for Best Dark Theme Short for New York-based Artist’s Forum Festival of the Moving Image and Gold Medal for Music Video Short for the Asia Southeast Short Film Festival.
