Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...6/12/25 
"I was born in Clarksdale in 1957; a boomer! I've lived here all of my life; (Except) for about five years, my wife, we'd just been married a year, we decided to move to Jackson to try to branch out and maybe seek our fame and fortunes; I was in the construction business and did good down there and started a family there but just felt the calling of the Delta," says Bubba O'Keefe the current director of Visit Clarksdale in Clarksdale, Mississippi. "The Delta is a unique place, it has a mystique about it, which I'm sure you've noticed already and our parents were aging and so why are we three hours away raising a family when to us, life was more important and precious to be closer to our family at such an early stage of raising our own family;so, we came back and I just love Clarksdale Mississippi."
2025 Rock, Ribs, and Ridges Festival to Take Place in Augusta June 27-29 
(AUGUSTA, NJ) -- The Rock, Ribs, and Ridges Festival, a weekend of the best in southern/classic rock bands and finger-licking barbecue and fixin's, will take place June 27-29, 2025 at the Sussex County Fairgrounds. Headliners include Orleans (Friday night), Grand Funk Railroad (Saturday night), and George Thorogood and the Destroyers (Sunday night).
The Newton Theatre presents Hollywood Nights - The Bob Seger Experience 
(NEWTON, NJ) -- Hollywood Nights - The Bob Seger Experience comes to The Newton Theatre on Friday, September 26, 2025. This is the ultimate tribute to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm.
Upcoming Shows at White Eagle Hall 
(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- This summer, Jersey City's premier entertainment venue White Eagle Hall continues a diverse schedule of events for the New Jersey and New York City area. Originally constructed in 1910 and reopened in 2017 after a multi-year, multi-million-dollar renovation, the venue has presented numerous sold out shows, community events, theater productions, private events, and sporting events. The exciting schedule of events continues this fall, with newly announced shows including Sharon Van Etten, The Hold Steady, Los Straitjackets, and The Budos Band.
2025 Bayzara Music Festival to Bring Top Artists to Keansburg 
(KEANSBURG, NJ) -- The Bayzara Music Festival will debut September 6-7, 2025 on the beach in Keansburg. Headlined by Vertical Horizon, Better Than Ezra and The Ataris, the festival also includes popular Jersey acts like Williams Honor and Dentist.
WXPN's 24-Hour Song Challenge Opens Public Voting 
(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- In its second year, the WXPN 24-Hour Song Challenge opens online voting to the public via the official website from June 12-18 to help inform the final results The public will choose their top three contenders from a group of 12 semi-finalists. Of the 12 semi-finalists, Four Finalists and one Grand Prize winner will be determined by the official 24 Hour Song Challenge judges. The Four Finalists will be announced once a day June 23, 24, 25 and 27 and the Grand prize winner will be announced on June 30th. For the first time ever, listeners will help choose the finalists.

Tribeca Film Festival 2025 Review - "Lemonade Blessing" 
When it comes to coming-of-age comedies, the best ones of recent years have been centred on teenage girls (Lady Bird, The Edge of Seventeen, Eighth Grade et al) rather than their male counterparts. Comedies about teenage boys tend to portray them as one-dimensional horndogs whose only goal is to get laid before they graduate, whereas the female protagonists of such movies have far more complex concerns. It's a relief then to find that Lemonade Blessing is that rare teen comedy that offers us a well-rounded young male protagonist, one who isn't even all that bothered about losing his virginity.
