Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center presents Thornton Wilder's "Our Town" in Metuchen and Plainfield 
(METUCHEN, NJ) -- Not long after a revival of Thornton Wilder's play Our Town closed on Broadway, New Jersey audiences will have the chance to see the classic drama close to home. Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center will present the classic play in both Metuchen and Plainfield in July. Directed by Dragonfly's Artistic Director Catherine LaMoreaux, Our Town invites audiences into the heart of small-town America through the everyday lives of the residents of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire.
Philadelphia Theatre Company Announces 2025/26 Season 
(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) has announced its 2025/26 season, featuring three dynamic mainstage productions and a robust lineup of special programming. Their 51st season includes Primary Trust, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Eboni Booth; Caesar, a fast-paced, contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar by Tyler Dobrowsky; and the world premiere of Wilderness Generation by Philadelphia playwright and Pulitzer Prize winner James Ijames.
The Players Guild of Leonia presents 2025 Marshall Playwrights Showcase 
(LEONIA, NJ) -- The Players Guild of Leonia will present its annual Marshall Playwrights Showcase on June 27-29, 2025 at the Civil War Drill Hall in Leonia. Works are by J.C. Svec, Guy Newsham, Donald Loftus, Jay Stephenson, and Stephanie Buckley.

The Newton Theatre presents Asleep at the Wheel 
(NEWTON, NJ) -- On Friday, August 15, 2025, The Newton Theatre presents Asleep at the Wheel. For over fifty years, Asleep at the Wheel’s Ray Benson has been traversing the globe as an ambassador of Western swing music and introducing its irresistible sound to generation after generation. More than 100 musicians have passed through the Wheel, but Benson remains the front man and the keeper of the vision, in the process racking up more than 30 albums, ten Grammy awards and literally millions of miles on the road.

Moe. is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2025 and began its summer tour in May performing at Dark Star Jubilee in Thornville, OH. Moe. will return to the east in June for a run of festivals including Northlands Music & Arts Festival in Swanzey, NH, All Good Now in Columbia, MD, Mountain Jam Music Festival in Woodstock, NY, and the multiple venue two weeklong North to Shore Festival throughout NJ. As part of North to Shore, Moe. will perform at the Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank on Saturday, June 21, 2025. I was able to catch up with Vinnie Amico (drummer) from moe. in anticipation of this show in Red Bank.
Soul Project NOLA Brings New Orleans Musical Flavor to Annual New Jersey Tour 
From June 18-25, 2025, Soul Project NOLA makes their way from New Orleans to New Jersey for their annual tour. The mini tour includes stops at venues that welcome the band back every year to the delight of their audiences, plus a first stop in Wayne, Pennsylvania at 118 North and a show in Atlantic City at Mardi Gras on The Boardwalk, a weekly summertime celebration of the musical legacy of New Orleans. The Atlantic City show features NJ favorites The Ocean Avenue Stompers and members of Dogs in a Pile.

East Lynne Theater Company to Host Juneteenth Screening of "Whispers from the Forgotten" 
(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- In honor of Juneteenth, East Lynne Theater Company will host a screening of "Whispers from the Forgotten," a 33-minute documentary that explores the history of Union Bethel Civil Cemetery, an important Cape May County African American cemetery, on June 22, 2025, at the Clemans Theater for the Arts at the Allen AME Church.

The Competition component of the 2025 New Jersey International Film Festival has just concluded! Overall, we had a very good festival this year and I want to thank the hundreds of people who viewed the terrific films we screened in-person and online. I also want to thank all of the filmmakers, cast and crew who came to the in-person screenings to talk about their films with our audiences.

Princeton Makes Artist Cooperative Announces Move to New Space Within Princeton Shopping Center 
(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Princeton Makes, a Princeton-based artist cooperative, has announced that it will be moving its store and studios to a new location within the Princeton Shopping Center. Princeton Makes will host a re-opening celebration on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the new location, which is in the southeast section of the shopping center, between Princeton Nassau Pediatrics and Pizza Star. People will have the opportunity to shop in the new space, meet many of the Princeton Makes artists, and enjoy refreshments. The event will start at 10:00am and continue through regular store hours until 6:00pm.
