The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce presents its second annual New Hope Star Wars Day celebration

(NEW HOPE, PA) -- The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce presents its second annual May the 4th: New Hope Star Wars Day celebration on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm, in Downtown New Hope. This exciting event will bring the galaxy far, far away to life with iconic Star Wars characters taking over the streets of New Hope.

Characters are presented courtesy of Garrison Carida, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to spreading joy through costuming. Look for them visiting more than a dozen beloved New Hope establishments, including Ferry Market, 4 the Love of Things, Fran’s Pub, Plant Haus, OldeStone, GreenHouse New Hope, Logan Inn, The Deck, Havana’s, John & Peter’s, V-Spot, Nozomu, and more.

Local businesses will join the festivities with Star Wars-themed cocktails, costume contest, sales, events, and specials, creating a vibrant, immersive experience for visitors. The New Hope Star Wars Day character activation is family friendly and open to the public - with no charge to come out and take over Main Street. Food, drink and shopping is pay as you go.

“This is our second year hosting Star Wars Day in New Hope, and it’s such a cool and exciting event that brings our community together in a fun, unique way,” said Michael Sklar, President of the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce. “Seeing fans of all ages connect with these iconic characters and enjoy the creativity of our local businesses makes this day truly special.”

The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce will team up again this year with Garrison Carida, of the 501st Region, to bring Star Wars to life on Main Street.  The 501st Legion is a worldwide Star Wars costuming organization comprised of and operated by Star Wars fans. Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion is local and is celebrating 20 years of service to Central and Eastern PA. Fans interested in joining this passionate group can learn more at www.501st.com. “We are the central and eastern Garrison of Pennsylvania," said Dave Kreyling, Commanding Office for Garrison Carida. "Garrison Carida is part of the 501st Legion, which is a worldwide costume organization. We are the Bad Guys Doing Good. Garrison Carida encourages donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support their mission of granting wishes for children with critical illnesses."

The Star Wars characters will visit beloved New Hope establishments, including: The Love Of Thingz (97 S. Main); Ferry Market (32 S. Main); Fran’s Pub (116 S. Main); GreenHouse New Hope (90 S. Main); Havana (105 S. Main); John & Peter’s (96 S. Main); Logan Inn (10 W. Ferry); New Hope Visitors Center (1 W. Mechanic); Nozomu (9 West Mechanic); Plant Haus (127 S. Main); Playhouse Deck Restaurant and Bar at Bucks County Playhouse (70 S. Main); OldeStone Steakhouse (15 S. Main); V-Spot (18-20 N Main); and more.

Local businesses will also join the festivities with Star Wars-themed cocktails, sales, events, and specials, creating a vibrant, immersive experience for visitors. The early list for those are as follows below:

* GreenHouse New Hope (90 S Main Street, New Hope). Special theme drink on special: Tatooine Sunrise, twin suns rise in every sip.

* Havana (105 S Main St, New Hope). Offering a signature YodaRita cocktail for the day.

* Nozomu Sushi (9 W Mechanic St, New Hope). Serving specialty Luke Skywalker and Yoda sushi rolls.

* Plant Haus (127 S Main St Ste. D, New Hope) from 10:30am to 12:00pm Noon. Hosting a “Galaxy Paint & Pot” event, perfect for creative Star Wars fans. During this guided painting session, you'll discover the unique painting method used to craft this far-far-away-galaxy-themed plant pot. No prior experience is necessary. This session is ideal for any skill level, and you'll get step-by-step instructions to create your own stunning planter. Tickets include a planter, art supplies, and guidance. Suitable for all ages. Tickets are available for purchase online at $39 each.

* Playhouse Deck Restaurant and Bar at Bucks County Playhouse (70 S Main Street, New Hope) from 5:00pm. Hosting Cantina Quizzo starting at 5:00pm, with Star Wars-inspired drink specials like Blue Milk and Bombad Brew (including a non-alcoholic option such as a Baby Yoda Soda), plus exciting scavenger hunts.

*  OldeStone Steakhouse (15 S. Main, New Hope). Special featured drink Rebellion Rum Runner bold fruit punch with a rallying cry kick

* New Hope Visitors Center (1 W. Mechanic, New Hope). Local Girl Scouts will do a Star Wars inspired art and craft with face marks for kids
