(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Novado Gallery presents "Edge of Light" - A Photography Exhibition by Jersey City based artist Lori Perbeck from April 26 through June 14, 2025. The exhibition was curated by Anne Novado and Eleazar Sanchez.

With this exhibition, Lori Perbeck invites viewers into an intimate exploration of the profound dualities that shape our lives: light and shadow, the physical and the spiritual, life and dream. Through the art of still life photography, Perbeck brings to light the delicate balance of these forces, capturing their interplay in ways that reveal hidden layers of meaning and beauty.

Lori Perbeck’s work is known for its meticulous attention to detail and ability to elevate ordinary objects into extraordinary visual experiences. In Edge of Light, she uses still life photography to focus on the quiet power of light and shadow. With each carefully composed image, Perbeck uncovers the dual nature of existence. Through her lens, everyday objects take on new significance, becoming symbols of deeper themes that speak to the viewer's inner world. This exhibition explores how light in still life photography not only illuminates objects but also creates a space where the spiritual and the physical converge. The contrast between light and shadow represents both the visible and the hidden, the known and the unknown, much like the way we navigate the space between life and dream, between what we see and what we feel.

Each piece in “Edge of Light” presents a delicate balance between simplicity and complexity. From the quiet reflection of light on glass surfaces to the mysterious shadows that envelop natural elements and objects, Perbeck's compositions invite the viewer to slow down and contemplate the layers of meaning embedded in even the most mundane of subjects. The still life form allows for a deep, meditative experience, where the audience is encouraged to engage with the images on a personal and spiritual level, reflecting on the constant play between light and shadow that exists both in our surroundings and within ourselves.

The exhibition opens at 6:00pm on April 26, 2025, in cooperation with the Garden State Art Weekend and will be on view until June 14, 2025.
