Lightwire Theater presents "Moon Mouse: A Space Odyssey" at RVCC

originally published: 03/06/2025

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Young theatergoers will be treated to an out-of-this world production when the Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg presents Moon Mouse: A Space Odyssey, Friday, March 28, 2025 at 10:00am. The 60-minute show by Lightwire Theater is geared for audiences in grades K-6.

The production is part of the Theatre at RVCC’s School-Time series, which offers educational field trip opportunities for school groups and homeschoolers.

Lightwire Theater’s staging of Moon Mouse offers a cosmic adventure about celebrating differences. Marvin the mouse wants to be popular. Constantly bullied and picked on by the “cool” mice, he is labeled as a loser and a geek. To get away from the continuous badgering, he retreats into his science books and a world of fantasy. He longs to have adventures, to be the hero.

Audience members will join Marvin on the space adventure of a lifetime: a trip to the moon on his homemade rocket. During his journey, he meets a strange cast of misfit creatures, learns of infinite peril, and sees awesome beauty. Will Marvin make his dreams come true, and will that bring him the glory and acceptance he craves?

Tickets for School-Time performances cost $8 per person, with one free chaperone ticket provided for every 15 tickets bought. To purchase tickets or for additional information, contact the Box Office, 908-725-3420, or order online at www.rvccArts.org. Senior citizen, student, and group discounts are available for most performances.
