The Gallery at Hillside Square presents "Navigating Infinity"

originally published: 01/14/2025

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Gallery at Hillside Square presents Navigating Infinity, a solo exhibition featuring the extraordinary works of acclaimed artist Christine Romanell. Christine Romanell's art practice is a unique exploration of the concept of infinity.  The exhibition runs from January 23 to April 3, 2025.

Her intricate and ever-expanding circular patterns, inspired by the golden ratio and sacred geometry, capture the delicate balance between order and boundlessness. Utilizing advanced techniques such as laser-cutting and 3D printing, she translates her digital drawings into captivating sculptures and paintings. Vibrant gradients guide viewers through her layered forms, hinting at the unseen and the infinite.

Based in New Jersey, Christine Romanell is a prominent figure in the local art community. In addition to her studio work, she serves as the board president at Manufacturers Village Artists space in East Orange and organizes the Garden State Art Weekend. Romanell’s work has garnered attention on the Smithsonian Channel and has been featured in prestigious publications such as Hyperallergic, Juxtapoz, MIT Technology Review, White Hot Magazine, and Art and Cake. She is a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grant through Chashama in NYC and was awarded a 2022 Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Romanell’s credentials include a BFA from the School of Visual Arts (NYC) and an MFA from Montclair State University (Montclair, NJ). Her work is held in esteemed collections, including those of Pat Bell, alongside renowned artists Tom Nussbaum and Willie Cole, as well as the collections of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation and Memorial Sloan Kettering.

There will be an opening reception on Thursday, January 23rd, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The Gallery at Hillside Square eagerly anticipates the opportunity to host this exhibition, providing a platform for Romanell’s innovative exploration of infinity. They are excited to welcome art enthusiasts, collectors, and the public to experience her mesmerizing creations and to join us for this special evening.
