Pro Arts Jersey City presents "Street Symphony: An Urban Art Exhibition" in November

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Pro Arts Jersey City presents Street Symphony: An Urban Art Exhibition from November 1-24, 2024 at ART150 Gallery.  The exhibit, curated by Josephine Barreiro, showcases the dynamic and eclectic artistic expressions inspired by the urban landscape.

Exhibited work captures the energy, diversity, and creativity found in city streets. From graffiti and street art to urban photography and mixed media work, this exhibition explores the sights, sounds, and stories of urban life.

Exhibiting artists include: Adrian Bermeo, Alex Romero, Alvin Eric Quiñones, Jkosart, Chris “Cent Pfe” Reyes, Copie Rodriguez, Cynthia Egle-Grant, Dina Levy, Dorie Dahlberg, DoubleX, Early Riser, Elliot Appel, Erika Ehrman, Eternal Tourist, Fernando A. Roman, For the times…, Frank Hanavan, Giancarlo Vargas, Gino Markocs, Gwen Yip, Individualactivist, J131, Jake Genen, J. Eric Cook, Jen Morris, Jim Fallon, Jodi Gerbi, Joseph Barral, Lawrence Ciarallo, Loura van der Meule, 0H10M1ke, Sharon Volpe, Theohiogirl, and Wendy A. Born.

Curator Josephine Barreiro has been recognized in various exhibits and features: such as Newark Artists Photo Documentary Project in 2018 and a live painting event at the Pen and Brush Gallery in NYC; NYC-ARTS segment on PBS. Barreiro is an active member of Pro Arts and has exhibited extensively in the NYC/NJ metro area as well as other venues in the US.

There will be an Opening Reception on Friday, November 1 from 5:00pm-9:00pm and a Sticker Trade Event on November 24 from 1:00pm-3:00pm. ART150 Gallery is located at 157A First Street in Jersey City, New Jersey. The exhibit is available for view weekends in November from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

Pro Arts Jersey City is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) professional visual arts membership organization dedicated to supporting and promoting artists and their work. ART150 Gallery is made possible by the generous donation of GFP Real Estate.

Programming is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of the State, a partner agency for the National Endowment for the Arts and by Funds from the National Endowment for the arts, administered by the Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Thomas A. DeGise, County Executive, and the Board of Chosen Freeholders.  Other support includes funding from the Jersey City Arts and Culture Trust Fund, and the funding from the National Endowment for the Arts administered through the Jersey City Arts Council.
