Here is a look at upcoming shows taking place from October 8-15, 2024 along with our featured listings. New Jersey Stage offers previews of concerts throughout the Garden State as well as select shows in New York City and Philadelphia areas. Click on the title to go to the full preview. Wednesday, October 9 - The Vogel presents Five for Fighting with a String Quartet. (RED BANK, NJ) -- Grammy® nominated, platinum-selling artist, Five For Fighting (aka John Ondrasik) will kick off a series of special string quartet shows beginning September 26. Ondrasik will be bringing top musicians including Tony-Award winning concertmaster and co-orchestrator of Moulin Rouge! The Musical Katie Kresek (Violin), Melissa Tong (Violin), who toured with Post Malone in 2023, and Broadway’s Chris Cardona (Viola) and Peter Sachon (Cello). The unique nature of the shows allows Ondrasik to go behind the music and tell stories while the format allows for a deeper dive into the catalog, while there is always a surprise or two in store.

Wednesday, October 9 - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band farewell tour Comes to MPAC on October 9th. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- For nearly six decades, the three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (NGDB) has entertained audiences with their top-shelf musicianship and timeless hits. Now the time has come for the band who has carried a torch for American country and roots music to say so long to the highways and byways they've crossed an unimaginable number of times throughout their career. The All the Good Times: The Farewell Tour comes to Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 7:30pm.

Saturday, October 12 - State Theatre New Jersey presents Grammy-winning trumpeter Chris Botti. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey presents Grammy®-winning trumpeter Chris Botti on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 8:00pm. Botti has been one of the most popular instrumentalists in the world for nearly three decades; he's collaborated with some of the biggest superstars on the planet, including Sting, Paul Simon, Barbra Streisand, Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Bette Midler, Joni Mitchell, Steven Tyler, Andrea Bocelli, Herbie Hancock, Yo-Yo Ma, and others.

Tuesday, October 8 - WORD Bookstore presents A Conversation with Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 at White Eagle Hall. (JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- WORD Bookstore presents A Conversation with Deryck Whibley, the lead singer of Sum 41, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The event takes place at White Eagle Hall. All ticket purchasers will receive a copy of Deryck Whibley's autobiography "Walking Disaster". This candid memoir of music, fame, and endurance follows his rise from a punk kid to an international star. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm.

Tuesday, October 8 - Harmonium Choral presents Second Annual Beer Choir at Glenbrook Brewery. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Come sing with Harmonium Choral Society and our choral community on October 8, 2024 at Glenbrook Brewery (95 Morris Street) in Morristown. This is a national singing movement founded by composer Michael Engelhardt in Minnesota in 2015. If you like beer, and you like to sing, you’ll love Beer Choir. The event begins at 7:00pm.

Wednesday, October 9 - Barry Manilow to extend his residency at Radio City Music Hall With Shows in October. (NEW YORK, NY) -- Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) and The Bowery Presents announced that on the heels of selling out five nights at Radio City Music Hall between May 31 and June 4, 2023 and five upcoming shows from April 17-21, 2024, Barry Manilow will extend his residency at Radio City and add five consecutive shows on Wednesday, October 9; Thursday, October 10; Friday, October 11; Saturday, October 12 and Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Wednesday, October 9 - Xtreme Queen: The Legacy of Freddie Mercury to Perform at Drew Concert Hall. Thursday, October 10 - South Jersey Jazz Society presents the 25th Annual JAZZ@thePoint Fall Festival in Somers Point. (SOMERS POINT, NJ) -- South Jersey Jazz Society presents the 25th Annual JAZZatthePoint Fall Festival from October 10-12, 2024 in Somers Point. The festival includes performances by Ciara Moser, John Patitucci, and Brian Bromberg at Gateway Playhouse and performances by Andy Lalasis Quartet and Mike Boone Trio featuring Mekhi Boone at Gregory's Restraurant & Bar.

Friday, October 11 - Everclear, Marcy Playground, and Jimmie's Chicken Shack to Play Asbury Lanes. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Everclear, one of the leading alternative rock bands to emerge from the '90s, is coming to Asbury Park on Friday, October 11, 2024 for a show at Asbury Lanes. They are on a 30+ date fall headlining tour featuring special guests Marcy Playground and Jimmie's Chicken Shack. Led by vocalist, guitarist and founder Art Alexakis, the acclaimed quartet will perform all the hits from throughout Everclear's extraordinary three decades-long catalog, spotlighting tracks off their platinum-selling album Songs From An American Movie Vol. One, which will be released on vinyl for the first time ever on September 13 via Intervention Records.

Friday, October 11 - The Levoy Theatre presents Yngwie Malmsteen. (MILLVILLE, NJ) -- The Levoy Theatre presents guitar legend Yngwie Malmsteen on Friday, October 11, 2024. Malmsteen's career has spanned over 40 years with over twenty albums to his name. Doors are at 7:00pm, showtime is 8:00pm.

Saturday, October 12 - Jason Curry and Alvester Garnett to Headline 5th Annual ROCCFEST on October 12th. (NEWARK, NJ) -- The Roseville Outreach Community Corporation presents the 5th Annual ROCCFEST on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 6:00pm. This is their annual fundraiser and celebration of art and music. This year's event is headlined by Jason Curry and Alvester Garnett. The event also includes performances by Duane Eubanks, Hanka G, Miki Hayama, and Mimi Jones.

Sunday, October 13 - BLUES People to Headline North Jersey Blues Society IBC Fundraiser at Crossroads. (GARWOOD, NJ) -- BLUES People, 2023 and 2024 North Jersey Blues Society (NJBS) International Blues Challenge (IBC) Winners, and 2024 IBC Semifinalists in Memphis, headline a NJBS concert and fundraiser taking place at Crossroads in Garwood on Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Also performing will be Ed Alstrom, NJBS IBC Winner in the Solo/Duo category.

Sunday, October 13 - Albert Music Hall presents Harvest Hootenanny in the Pines: A Fun Sunday Afternoon of Music on October 13th. (WARETOWN, NJ) -- On October 13, 2024, Albert Music Hall invites music enthusiasts to join the fun at the annual Harvest Hootenanny in the Pines. This special Sunday afternoon show will be filled with fantastic live music, jamming, delicious food, and community spirit. Doors will open at 12:30pm, with the music kicking off at 1:30pm. This year’s event features 9 talented bands, delivering 4.5 hours of continuous entertainment.

Tuesday, October 15 - Swing into 'A Night at the Copa' at Ocean County Library Jackson Branch. (JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Travel back to the era of fashionable night spots and memorable music.
