Here is the New Jersey Film Festival Fall 2024 Video Filmmaker Q+A with The Horse Tail Director
Justyna Łuczaj-Salej and Festival Director Al Nigrin:

The Horse Tail - Justyna Łuczaj-Salej (Krosno, Poland)

At the foot of a cliff, between a rubbish dump, barns and a forest, there is a place where people form incestuous relationships and hold painful secrets. The Horse Tail is a junk version of the myth of Oedipus. Diana the aging prostitute comes back to her small hometown. She has a faulty memory and Maj an orphan outcast suspects that she is his mother. When they meet Diana treats him as if he was a client. The atmosphere gets much tenser when Maj becomes friends with a policeman’s daughter. Their relationship, based on their particular sensitivity and their opposition to the rotten world they live in, does not stand a chance of surviving. While they are playing in a river, a horse’s tail twines around their bodies. Maj knows that it is a bad sign. In Polish, subtitled. 2023; 75 min.
