Arts Institute of Middlesex County Offerings In May 2024

The Arts Institute of Middlesex County is presenting, promoting, and supporting various arts and culture events, exhibitions, and shows throughout May 2024. These events are free to enjoy for all County residents and beyond.

May's event highlights include:

Natural and Organic Gardening Seminar: Join experts at the EARTH Center on Tuesday, May 7 at 1:00pm to Learn new tips to manage your flower beds, shrubs, trees, lawn, and vegetable gardens with minimal, if any, synthetic chemical additives. A Night at the Movies: Join the Woodbridge Community Choir on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30pm as their Spring 2024 concert will mesmerize audiences with songs from some of the best and most popular movie soundtracks, including The Wizard of Oz, West Side Story, and Harry Potter. Following the concert, attendees are invited to a reception with light refreshments provided by the choir.

History Day: Head to East Jersey Old Town Village on Saturday, May 18 from 10:00am-4:00pm, and immerse yourself in art, culture, craftsmanship, and architecture as historical interpreters bring history to life! Countless activities, including home & hearth demonstrations, traditional musical performances, wagon rides, children's crafts, stone carving, and a 19th-century print shop will captivate guests throughout the grounds and buildings of this local treasure. Visitors can also take a quick shuttle to the Cornelius Low House to check out the Micah Williams exhibit!

Setting Up for Success: Early Season Gardening: On Saturday, May 18, join the EARTH Center to learn best practices for pest control, plant selection, and garden planning with hands-on demonstrations, while discovering Rows for the Hungry, the EARTH Center’s donation garden. (SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Stewart Copeland brings his first American spoken-word tour (Have I Said Too Much?) to the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 7:30pm. Copeland is the founding drummer of The Police and one of rock's most inventive forces.

(CARTERET, NJ) -- Hallmark and Gershwin Entertainment are proud to announce Hallmark Stars Live presented by Michaels, a new live tour kicking off at URSB Carteret Performing Arts and Events Center on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 7:30pm where some of the network's most beloved stars step off screen and onto the stage. Hosted by fan-favorite Nikki DeLoach (A Grand Ole Opry Christmas), the tour will feature Hallmark mainstays for a night where the cameras are off – and the stories keep rolling.
