Two Artists, One Name: Gregory Lewis Collaboration Unveiled at Gallery 211

originally published: 03/27/2024

(RED BANK, NJ) -- In the vibrant cultural landscape of New Jersey, an intriguing coincidence has brought together two artists sharing not only the same name but also the same passion for art. The serendipitous discovery occurred when the Google search for "NJ artist Gregory Lewis" kept overlapping the events of these two artists, leading them to meet finally.

Both Gregs, Gregory D. Lewis of Springfield, NJ, and Gregory A. Lewis of Fair Haven, NJ, immediately recognized the potential for collaboration upon meeting. Their shared name may have initially sparked the connection, but it is their individual contributions to New Jersey’s rich tapestry of artistic expression that truly shines through.

Gregory D. Lewis, a traditionally trained fine artist and illustrator, brings decades of experience to the collaboration. His journey began at The Art Students League, where he studied under esteemed professors such as Robert Beverly Hale and David A. Leffel. Lewis’s unique style is a testament to his diverse influences, showcasing a mastery of techniques gleaned from his mentors and personal exploration.

On the other hand, Gregory A. Lewis boasts over 25 years of decorative painting experience, honing his craft through formal education at Parsons School of Design in NYC and later refining his skills at The Isabel O’Neil Studio. His transition from decorative art to fine art has been a natural evolution, with his oil-on-canvas pieces reflecting a deep understanding of shadow, light, and architectural elements.

The collaboration between these two talented artists will be at Gallery 211 in Red Bank from April 25 - August 16th, 2024, with an opening reception scheduled for Thursday, April 25th. Come and witness a fusion of traditional fine art techniques and contemporary expressions, showcasing the diversity and depth of New Jersey’s artistic community. Their partnership not only highlights the power of chance encounters but also celebrates the unique voices that contribute to our local art scene.Witness the culmination of this extraordinary collaboration and experience the magic of two artists, one name.
