Atlantic City Ballet presents "Swan Lake"

originally published: 03/21/2024

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The Atlantic City Ballet's spring season commences with ballet's most famous love story, Swan Lake. This is the story of young Prince Siegfried, who falls in love with Princess Odette. Odette and her companions transform into swans under the spell cast by the evil sorcerer Baron von Rothbart. Their days are spent gracefully gliding on a lake only to return to their human form at night. Performances take place April 13-14, 2024.

Featuring the unforgettable corps de ballet moving in magical unison as the majestic, glimmering swans, this romantic fable of dreamlike transformation, set to Tchaikovsky’s glorious score, inspires awe and wonder.

The initial performance takes place at Circus Maximus Theater inside Caesar's Hotel in Atlantic City on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 7:00pm; tickets are available for purchase online. An encore performance takes place at the Strand Theater in Lakewood on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 5:00pm; tickets are available for purchase online.

In keeping with the theme of love, the ballet follows up with La Sylphide, which tells the story of an impossible love between a human and a spirit, and man's inherent temptation for the unknown and sometimes dangerous life. This will be performed on May 10th at 8:00pm at Caesar's.

The final ballet in this love trilogy is Coppelia. The story centers on a toy maker, a life size doll, a smitten villager and his fiancé. A charming tale, where toys come to life and the path to happily ever after takes a few detours. This will be performed on June 8th at 7:00pm at Caesar's.
