originally published: 12/15/2023

(RED BANK, NJ) -- The Count Basie Center for the Arts presents the Happy Together Tour 2024 on Thursday, June 20, 2024 as a benefit for the Light of Day Foundation. The lineup includes The Turtles, Jay & The Americans, The Association, Badfinger, The Vogues, and The Cowsills. Showtime is 7:30pm.

The performance will raise money and awareness for its continuing battle to defeat Parkinson’s disease and its related illnesses ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) within our lifetime.

2024 marks another great year for the highly-successful, hit-filled summer package tour, Happy Together. The touring sensation that has criss-crossed the nation delighting audiences for a decade returns this summer with a show full of chart-topping hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s – FIFTY-NINE Billboard Top 40 smashes to be precise. The tour is once again headlined by The Turtles, who also serve as musical hosts for the evening.

Tickets range from $44.50 to $124.50 and are available for purchase online or the Basie Center box office onsite at 99 Monmouth Street in Red Bank.   A limited amount of VIP UPFRONT Tickets will be available.

The Turtles are best known for their harmony-heavy California pop sound. With hits such as “Elenore,” “She’d Rather Be With Me,” “It Ain’t Me Babe,” “You Showed Me” and the title of the tour, “Happy Together,” the band ruled the airwaves in the late ‘60s. Ron Dante joins the line-up to delight with his own mega-hit, “Sugar Sugar”.

New to the tour in 2024 are Jay & The Americans. Formed in the late 1950’s and originally from Belle Harbor, Queens, NY, they ruled the charts in the 60’s with Top 10 AM radio hits like “Come A Little Bit Closer”, "Cara Mia”, “This Magic Moment” and “She Cried".

Returning to the tour for 2024 is The Association, who enjoyed massive radio success in the ‘60s with such #1 hits as “Cherish,” “Windy,” “Never My Love” and “Along Comes Mary”. This iconic vocal group was a staple on AM radio in the 1960s.

Also new to the tour in 2024 is Badfinger, the Welsh rock band who are perhaps best known for their working relationship with The Beatles and George Harrison in particular. They scored 4 massive hits in the late 60’s, early 70’s with “Come and Get It”, written by Paul McCartney, “No Matter What”, “Day after Day”, produced by George Harrison and “Baby Blue”. They also performed with George Harrison in the historic “Concert for Bangladesh”.

Also returning to the Happy Together tour in 2024 are The Vogues. Also known for their harmony-driven pop sound, they had numerous Top 10 hits with singles such as “Five O’Clock World,” “You’re The One,” “My Special Angel” and “Turn Around Look At Me”.

Rounding out the bill are The Cowsills, the harmonious family act (two brothers and a sister) that inspired the smash hit ‘60s television show, “The Partridge Family”. They are sure to delight with their best-known songs, “Hair,” “Indian Lake,” “The Rain, The Park & Other Things (I Love The Flower Girl)” and more.
