(BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Enjoy colonial-time fun with the entire family at the 1770s Festival, which is sponsored by the Somerset County Park Commission's Environmental Education Center (EEC). The event will be held on Sunday, October 1, from 11:30am to 4:00pm, at Lord Stirling Manor, located at 96 Lord Stirling Road (off South Maple Ave), Basking Ridge. If there is heavy rain, the festival will take place at the EEC on 190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge. Dogs are not allowed. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person.

Visitors will see history come alive through eighteenth-century reenactors and musicians playing authentic colonial music. The festival will also feature colonial crafts, trade demonstrations, Revolutionary War militias, and a cider pressing demonstration.

For more information, contact the Somerset County EEC at 908-722-1200, ext. 5002, or visit www.somersetcountyparks.org. Individuals with hearing or speech impairment can call the Relay Service by dialing 711.

Lord Stirling Park consists of 1,015 acres of beautiful parkland, natural waterways, and open space in the northern area of Somerset County that is home to the Stable, the Environmental Education Center, and the Revolutionary War-era Boudinot Southard Farmstead.

The Environmental Education Center (EEC) at Lord Stirling Park offers approximately nine miles of hiking trails, programs led by Naturalists, school field trips, fun festivals, nature-themed exhibits, facility and classroom rentals, a resource library, science and conservation research, and more.
