Voices of East Brunswick: New Podcast Series, Vocal Canvas, Reveals Cast and Creative Team
 

(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The East Brunswick Public Library has announced a collaborative venture with NextGen Acting and Playhouse 22 for the production of the upcoming podcast series, Vocal Canvas. This is an intriguing five-part podcast series that delves into the Five Aspects of Voice: Volume, Pitch, Pace, Diction, and Resonance. Each episode will shine the spotlight on a different aspect of voice, featuring pieces penned by community members.

 



"Tales at the Dormer House" continues in Cape May
 

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Now through August 10, Classic American Tales (CAT) presents "Tales at the Dormer House," formerly known as "Tales of the Victorians" and "Tales in the Backyard" when previously produced by East Lynne Theater Company (ELTC). Guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories by American authors like O. Henry, Zora Neale Hurston, and Mark Twain.

Outpost in the Burbs presents Slambovian Circus of Dreams Unplugged and The Kennedys
 

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs presents a co-bill of Slambovian Circus of Dreams Unplugged and The Kennedys on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the First Congregational Church of Montclair. Tickets are $35. Showtime is 8:00pm.

 



Steve Conte releases "Fourth of July" - Single Written With Andy Partridge of XTC
 

Just in time for the holiday, Steve Conte has released his latest single, "Fourth of July". The song was written with Andy Partridge of XTC and is released on Wicked Cool Records. The track is from an upcoming album expected to be released in 2024.

Vincent Herring's Something Else!
 

One of alto saxophonist Vincent Herring's greatest influences was Julian "Cannonball" Adderley, so it's not surprising that his current band, which appeared in June at New York's Smoke Jazz Club and at the Syracuse National Grid Jazz Fest, takes its name from the title of Adderley's only Blue Note album as a leader, released in 1958.

 



Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District Announces 18th Music Festival Season
 

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Lincoln Park Coast Cultural District (LPCCD) has announced the 18th consecutive Lincoln Park Music Festival Season (including two hybrid "Covid" seasons 14.1 and 14.2). Headlining the legendary House Music Day is none other than dance music and Disco pioneer – Nicky Siano! Nicky Siano is one of the only surviving DJs who actually started the dance music scene in New York City and he's coming to Newark’s #1 House Music Day for the first-time ever!

 



FRND CRCL releases "Suburban Dictionary"
 

Pop punk group FRND CRCL (pronounced "Friend Circle") have released their third studio album, Suburban Dictionary. These "key players in the new wave of pop punk on the scene" (New Noise Magazine) have been compared to Blink-182, Simple Plan and Sum 41, bringing their delightfully nostalgic yet strikingly infectious fresh feel into the fifth wave of pop punk.

 



Asbury Park's Sean Tobin Releases "Song for the End of the World"
 

On Thursday, February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. That same day, New Jersey's Sean Tobin wrote "Song for the End of the World," his latest release. The song is available on major streaming services and is the first single from an uncoming album expected for release in November.

 



Jon Caspi & the First Gun to Donate Sales of 7" Release of "Raise 'Em High" to Jesse Malin for Medical Fund
 

In April 2023, Jesse Malin suffered a stroke in his back and became paralyzed from the waist down. Jon Caspi - a New Jersey artist who recorded a new version of his band's popular "Raise 'Em High" song with Malin last year - had an idea as to how to help, but wanted to run it by his band and record label first.

 



NYC-based indie-rockers Big Girl releases debut album
 

(NEW YORK, NY) -- The Brooklyn-based rock band Big Girl, the project of lead singer and songwriter Kaitlin Pelkey, have released their debut album, Big Girl vs. God, on Weird Sister Records. The LP was produced by Justin Pizzoferrato (Pixies, Dinosaur Jr., Speedy Ortiz). The band has an album release show at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn, NY on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

 



World's First Cinema Signs with Fearless Records and Releases "S.O.S." single
 

(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- World's First Cinema has announced their signing to Fearless Records and have shared their new single "S.O.S." Boisterous rock guitar meets soundtrack-style orchestration on the new single, plunging listeners headfirst into the glimmering universe of World's First Cinema. The Levoy Theatre's 2023 Summer Movie Pass
 

(MILLVILLE, NJ) -- The Levoy Theatre has announced a summer movie pass that offers 14 films for $25 with screenings from July 9 through August 26, 2023. The screenings are also available individually for $10 each. The summer movie pass includes screenings of The NeverEnding Story; Lyle, Lyle Crocodile; Disney's Moana; an Elvis triple feature (King Creole, Jailhouse Rock, Elvis); The Greatest Showman; and a Top Gun double feature (Top Gun and Top Gun Maverick).

40th Ellarsie Open Awards Prizes to 17 Exhibiting Artists
 

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Seventeen of 109 exhibiting artists received awards during the June 24 Artists and Members Reception for the 40th Ellarslie Open at Trenton City Museum. This year’s edition of the annual juried exhibition showcases 150 artworks by artists from greater Trenton and throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. All of the artwork is available for purchase in the museum or online through September 30, 2023.

Bergen County is Still Accepting Applications for American Rescue Fund Arts & History Reimbursement Grant
 

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco, Board of County Commissioners, and the Bergen County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs announce that funding is still available for the County of Bergen American Rescue Fund Arts & History Reimbursement Grant. This grant offers funding to eligible Bergen County non-profit arts and history organizations and eligible individual working artists and historians who have been impacted by COVID-19.
