(PHILADELPHIA, PA) -- Sting and Shaggy have curated and will co-headline the One Fine Day Festival, a full day of eclectic music featuring a diverse artist lineup across two stages coming exclusively to The Mann in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, PA, on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

Headlining the main stage at TD Pavilion at The Mann, Sting and Shaggy will perform their biggest hits together, trading off and collaborating on ‘Every Breath You Take,’ ‘Englishman In New York,’ ‘Message In A Bottle,’ ‘It Wasn’t Me,’ ‘Boombastic’ and ‘Angel’ and more. The One Fine Day performance in Philadelphia is the only time in the USA where Sting and Shaggy, both managed by Cherrytree Music Company CEO Martin Kierszenbaum, will perform together in 2023.

“I love how Shaggy and I effortlessly push each other to the creative edges,” says Sting. “After having made the 44/876 album together and recording an album of Frank Sinatra covers in a reggae style, a day of hits and musical adventures in one of our favorite cities seemed like the next illogical step!”

“Sting is a catalyst for musical curiosity,” adds Shaggy. “When we collaborate, we combine our musical tastes, individual cultures and a sense of wonder.  We wanted to invite some of our favorite musicians to gather in real time and share that very vibe at ‘One Fine Day.’”

Headlining the Skyline Stage at the Mann for One Fine Day will be two-time Grammy Award-winning Thundercat the funky bassist who is known for his collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu and Mac Miller.

“One Fine Day” will fill the air with uplifting spirit and energy along with additional musical performances from Koffee, Tank and the Bangas, Philly’s own G. Love & Special SauceKesFlor de Toloache, and French/ Italian sensation, Giordana Angi all against the beautiful backdrop of Fairmount Park.

Tickets will be available beginning with an artist presale starting on Tuesday, May 16 at 10:00am EST until Thursday, May 18 at 10:00pm EST. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on sale beginning on Friday, May 19 at 10:00am EST at ticketmaster.com. An exclusive VIP experience which includes access to a private lounge with samplings of Sting’s wine, Toscana IGT from Il Palagio paired with Philadelphia’s own Di Bruno Brothers gourmet cheeses is also available.

Composer, singer-songwriter, actor, author, and activist Sting was born in Newcastle, England before moving to London in 1977 to form The Police with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers. The band released five studio albums, earned six GRAMMY Awards® and two Brits, and was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

One of the world’s most distinctive solo artists, Sting has received an additional 11 GRAMMY Awards®, two Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, four Oscar nominations, a TONY nomination, Billboard Magazine’s Century Award, and MusiCares 2004 Person of the Year.  In 2003, he was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for his myriad of contributions to music. Also a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, he has received the Kennedy Center Honors, The American Music Award of Merit and The Polar Music Prize. Sting has been awarded Honorary Doctorates of Music by the University of Northumbria (1992), Berklee College of Music (1994), University of Newcastle upon Tyne (2006) and Brown University at its 250th Commencement ceremony (2018).

Throughout his illustrious career, Sting has sold 100 million albums from his combined work with The Police and as a solo artist.

Born Orville Richard Burrell and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Shaggy got his start as an MC in New York City’s burgeoning dancehall scene soon after moving to Brooklyn in his teens. Soon after serving four years in the U.S. Marines (including two tours of duty in the Middle East as part of Operation Desert Storm), he inked his first record deal and quickly scored a global crossover smash with “Oh Carolina.”

As the only diamond-selling dancehall artist in music history, Shaggy, has sold more than 40 million album units to date, in addition to landing eight singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and seven albums on the Billboard 200 (including four in the top 40). He is among the top 3 streamed reggae artists of all time on Spotify.

Following the album, 44/876 (his collaboration with Sting & winner of Best Reggae Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards), Shaggy’s projects include his twelfth studio album Wah Gwaan?!, a 2019 release that amassed over four million streams during its first week on Spotify alone and spent a chunk of that year in the Top 10 on Apple’s iTunes Reggae chart. That project was followed by the release of Hot Shot 2020, commemorating the 20th anniversary of his diamond-selling album, which included re-recorded, modernized versions of the biggest hits and most beloved fan favorites across Shaggy’s catalog.

His latest project, a Soca-inspired EP, “In the Mood”- featuring the lead track “Mood” with Kes, was recently released on VP Records and will be followed by the Hot Summer Nights Tour with TLC, featuring En Vogue and Sean Kingston, across North America this summer.
