(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- With performances starting on Thursday, May 11, Ken Levine's Guilty Pleasures: An Unapologetic Comedy premieres at The Black Box, located at 8 East Palisade Avenue between Van Brunt and Dean Streets in Englewood. The play follows 30-something marrieds Larry and Jinx Berman as they embark on a luxury cruise and befriend a glamorous celebrity couple. Before they know it, a frivolous agreement leads to sex and comic complications, and Larry and Jinx must resort to infidelity in order to save their marriage.
The Emmy-award winning writer of 'MASH', 'Cheers', 'Frasier', 'The Simpsons', and 'Wings' -- not to mention a series of new plays including America's Sexiest Couple - offers a modern-day throwback to Noel Coward-type screwball comedies that is very much for today.
On Friday, May 12 and Saturday, May 13, Mr. Levine will participate in a Q&A immediately following each performance. Additionally, a low-key opening weekend reception will follow the 8:00pm show on Sunday, May 14th! Admission to the Q&A and Reception is included with the show, but seating is limited, so reserve tickets ahead of time for these special events opening weekend!
Guilty Pleasures: An Unapologetic Comedy is co-directed by Matt Okin and Ilana Schimmel, who also serves as Production Designer. Michael Gardiner is the AD, Eva Burke is the ASM/Board Op, and Danielle MacMath is the Promotional Art Director. The cast of NY/NJ area actors features Justin Jager, Gavin Hammon, Eric McMahon, and Katie North (recently featured Off Broadway in the Black Box/Soho Playhouse production of Eric Bogosian's 1+1).
Tickets, ($35 general admission / $30 for students and seniors), are on sale now at www.blackboxpac.com!.
