American Theater Group Presents Searing Drama "Right to be Forgotten" (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) -- Following the success of its season opening production of Parade, American Theater Group (ATG), Central Jersey's professional regional theater company, has announced its next production -- Right to Be Forgotten -- a searing new drama by Sharyn Rothstein. The show will run June 8-10 at JCC MetroWest in West Orange, NJ and June 15-18 at the Sieminski Theater in Basking Ridge.
Aspire Performing Arts Company presents the Smash Hit Musical "The Prom" in Butler (BUTLER, NJ) -- Aspire Performing Arts Company is one of the first youth community theatre companies to present the smash Broadway hit musical, The Prom, running May 11- 13 at Butler High School. Based around true events, The Prom follows the story of Emma Nolan, an Indiana high school student who wants to bring her girlfriend to the prom. Rather than allow for inclusivity, the PTA cancels the prom entirely, and that’s when four eccentric Broadway stars (in need of some good PR) step in.

The 2023 T. Thomas Fortune Lecture Series Honors Juneteenth with Harvard University Scholar Dr. Khalil Gibran Muhammad Addressing the Black Press and the State of Democracy (RED BANK, NJ) -- The T. Thomas Fortune Foundation is honored to announce Dr. Khalil Gibran Muhammad, a leading scholar as the 2023 T. Thomas Fortune Lecturer. Dr. Muhammad is the former executive director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York. He is currently the Ford Foundation Professor of History, Race, and Public Policy at the Kennedy School at Harvard University. The event kicks off their Juneteenth celebration, a federal holiday commemorating Black liberation from the institution of slavery.

Ocean County Library Upper Shores Branch to Present Saga of Women Pilots in World War II (LAVALLETTE, NJ) -- During World War II, about 1,000 volunteers took to the air for the Allies as Women's Airforce Service Pilots (W.A.S.P.). Historian and storyteller Carol Simon Levin recounts their amazing exploits in "A W.A.S.P. Takes Wing: Women Pilots in World War II," on Wednesday, May 24, at the Ocean County Library Upper Shores Branch. The event begins at 7:00pm.
