originally published: 04/06/2023

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will present Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s production of It’s Okay to Be Different - Stories by Todd Parr on Tuesday, May 2  at 10:00am. The 60-minute show, the final selection in this season’s School-Time Series, is geared for youngsters in Pre-K through third grade and their families.

It’s Okay to Be Different - Stories by Todd Parr features an innovative approach to puppetry manipulation and construction, combined with playful, original music. Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia has earned worldwide praise for its music, and the show delivers important messages about acceptance, understanding, and self-confidence.

The show’s “stories” include: the equally whimsical and heartfelt The Earth Book, a sweet homage to our beautiful planet that inspires all ages to help keep the Earth happy and healthy; and This is My Hair, a funny exploration of how silly hair can be, and that no matter how your hair looks, it’s important to always feel good about yourself.

Tickets for all performances in the School-Time Series cost $8 per person; one free chaperone ticket is provided for every 15 tickets bought. To purchase tickets or for additional information, contact the Box Office, 908-725-3420, or order online at www.rvccArts.org. Senior citizen, student, and group discounts are also available for most performances.

Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) is located at 118 Lamington Road in Branchburg, New Jersey.
