(LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) -- For the months of April and May, the Dupree Gallery in Lambertville, NJ, is hosting an exhibition entitled “Passion Fusion”. It will be on view from Friday to Sunday each weekend, starting April, through May 28th, with a reception on April 8th from 5:00pm-8:00pm. The artwork on display will feature gallery owner James E. Dupree alongside renowned fiber artist Arturo Alonzo Sandoval. Dupree Gallery is a black-owned business founded by Philadelphia-based artist James E. Dupree and has locations in both Philadelphia PA and Lambertville NJ.

Large-scale woven art quilts from Sandoval’s series Pattern Fusion will be hung parallel to work from James E Dupree’s series Stolen Dreams Forbidden Fruit. The exhibition’s title, “Passion Fusion” is not only a nod to Sandoval’s acclaimed series, but also illustrates Dupree and Sandoval’s longstanding friendship of 20 years, and the commitment they share for their life’s passion, creating art.

“We have this mutual spirit for how we make art, how we put our compositions together, as well as the materials that we’re using. He was using holographic surfaces in his fiber art as soon as it was marketable in plastics. I’m excited about the light, the surface, and the use of the materials from Arturo Alonzo Sandoval’s mixed media pieces, and how it relates to my work.” - James E. Dupree

Their likeness in material usage and complexity creates a well-rounded exhibition that is sure to attract attention from an assortment of individuals both in and outside of the art community. Sandoval and Dupree will both be attending the opening reception, and their expertise is sure to resonate with the Lambertville community and beyond.

The Dupree Gallery is owned by artist James E. Dupree and is located at 10 N. Union Street, Lambertville, NJ 08530 and 703 South 6th Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19147. Dupree Gallery Lambertville was opened in October 2022, and is the Gallery’s newest and second location. The Gallery is open Friday through Sunday 12:00pm-6:00pm, and by appointment.
