(HOLMDEL, NJ) -- The Holmdel Theatre Company presents The Diary of Anne Frank weekends from April 15-30, 2023. Originally by Frances Goodrich & Albert Hackett, this is newly adapted by Wendy Kesselman. In her gripping new adaptation Anne Frank emerges from history a living, lyrical, intensely gifted young girl who confronts her rapidly changing life and the increasing horror of her time with astonishing honesty, wit and determination.
This is an impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic, The Diary of Anne Frank captures the claustrophobic realities of their daily existence – their fear, their hope, their laughter, their grief.
Each day of these two dark years, Anne's voice shines through: "When I write, I shake off all my cares. But I want to achieve more than that. I want to be useful and bring enjoyment to all people, even those I've never met. I want to go on living even after my death!" This is a new adaptation for a new generation.
The production is directed by Amy E. Jones and produced by Laurie Devino. The cast includes Katie Bauer (Anne Frank), Sandy Nolan (Otto Frank), Stephanie Long (Edith Frank), Gabriela Postigo (Margot Frank), Felicia Russell (Miep Gies), Bryan Reimertz (Peter Van Daan), Lori Cortese-Buckheit (Mrs. Van Daan), Jesse Luciani (Mr. Van Daan), Bryan Ponemon (Mr. Dussel), Jesse Luciani (Mr. Van Daan), Mike Vails (Mr. Kraler), Steve Lukawski (Nazi Officer), Justin Piehler (Dutch Collaborator #1, and Cooper Bilsland (Dutch Collaborator #2).
Performances take place Fridays at 8:00pm, Saturdays at 8:00pm, and Sundays at 2:00pm. Tickets range from $20 - $25 and are available for purchase online. Performances take place in The Duncan Smith Theater, located at 36 Crawfords Corner Road in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Making this sophisticated informality possible is The Duncan Smith Theater. Congenial and warm, this historic, 125-year-old barn has been transformed into a modern, fully air-conditioned facility with 99 comfortably cushioned seats. The HTC performance space is a black box theatre that allows for flexibility in stage and seating arrangement to suit the specific requirements of a production. The Duncan Smith Theater gives each artist the opportunity to explore more experimental modes of performance. This intimate space allows the audience to connect with the performing artists.
