West Hudson Arts & Theater Company presents "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown"
 

(WEST HUDSON, NJ -- The West Hudson Arts and Theater Company (WHATCo) has announced the cast for You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown opening April 21st at WHATCo's new venue at 15 Frank E. Rodgers Blvd. South, Harrison, NJ (the former Holy Cross School.) Performances run April 21-30. Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang explore life's great questions as they play baseball, struggle with homework, sing songs, swoon over their crushes, and celebrate the joy of friendship.

 



Ritz Theatre Company presents Shakespeare's "Macbeth"
 

(HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Something wicked this way comes... when William Shakespeare's "Macbeth" opens at the Ritz Theatre Company, a historic New Jersey venue, on March 17. This will be an immersive and riveting production of "Macbeth," directed by five-time Barrymore award winner Mary Martello and featuring actors Steven R. Butler as Macbeth, Lisa VillaMil as Lady Macbeth, and AJ Klein as Macduff.

The Newton Theatre presents Toad the Wet Sprocket

South Jersey Pops Plays the Music of Human Conflict as it Presents "Discord" March 26 in Medford
 

(MEDFORD, NJ) -- South Jersey Pops, the region's own non-profit orchestra, continues its 51st season as it presents "Discord: The Sound of Human Conflict" March 26, 2023, at Lenape High School in Medford, N.J. The concert will feature the music of conflict as it's been expressed in popular culture, contemporary and classical music, and film and television over the years.

Composer Steve Mackey to Have World Premiere of "Riot" with the New Jersey Symphony and Princeton Glee Club Choir
 

On April 21-23, Steven Mackey's RIOT receives its world premiere with the New Jersey Symphony and Princeton Glee Club Choir led by Xian Zhang, joined by mezzo-soprano Alicia Olatuja and Mackey himself on electric guitar. The large-scale work, written in collaboration with U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith, was composed in honor of New Jersey Symphony’s 100th year.

 



The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music announces the inaugural American Music Honors scheduled for April 15
 

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music has announced the honorees of its inaugural American Music Honors event, to be held April 15, 2023 on the campus of its home, Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. The 2023 honorees are E Street Band member, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, political activist, music educator, and best-selling author Stevie Van Zandt; Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and legendary soul artist Sam Moore of the ‘60s soul duo, Sam & Dave; longtime pop/soul singer and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Darlene Love; and country/blues/rock singer-songwriter and social commentator Steve Earle.

The Atlantic City Ballet Celebrated 40 Years at Gala
 

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The Atlantic City Ballet celebrated four decades of artistic excellence in the region at its 40th Anniversary Gala, held at Caesars Atlantic City Hotel & Casino on Saturday, March 4, 2023. The celebration featured a sit-down dinner, a performance, dancing, and a salute to the esteemed ballet company’s accomplished alumni from the past 40 years. Proceeds from the evening will go toward continuing a tradition of inspiring passion for future generations to come. Attend the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation's ArtsBergen initiative's Flood Theater Community Workshop to raise awareness about the devastating effects of flooding along the Hackensack River. Join us to share your flood story and to create a quilt square for a public artwork, Flood Theater. The interactive workshop takes place on Wednesday, March 29 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Oradell Borough Hall on the top floor located at 355 Kinderkamack Rd. in Oradell, New Jersey.

New Jersey Poetry Out Loud Announces Lydia Smith As 2023 State Champion
 

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Lydia Smith, a junior from Henry Hudson Regional High School in Highlands, was named State Champion at the 2023 New Jersey Poetry Out Loud State Finals, part of the National Poetry Out Loud recitation program. The competition took place on March 6th at Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, NJ.

 



Award-winning Poet Terrance Hayes to Give Reading at RVCC
 

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The Department of English at Raritan Valley Community College will present award-winning poet Terrance Hayes, April 6, at noon, in the Nash Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus. New Jersey Community Capital Selects Momentum Advisors to Invest $2.3M to Improve the State's Charter School Facilities
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC), the state’s largest community development financial institution (CDFI), announced that it has selected Momentum Advisors to invest $2.3 million of the $8 million Credit Enhancement Program grant awarded to NJCC in 2016 by the U.S. Department of Education. The grant is to diversify the provision of loan and lease guarantees for developing, expanding and improving public charter school facilities in disadvantaged districts in New Jersey.
