Passage Theatre Company presents "Clean Slate" - A World Premiere Musical and Co-Production with Rider University 
 

(TRENTON, NJ) -- From the minds of Kate Brennan and David Lee White comes Clean Slate, a new musical that tells the story of a group of disaffected high school students who are sent to a rehabilitation camp. The show is the second installment in Brennan and White’s Infinity Trilogy and makes its world premiere this winter in a co-production with Rider University and Passage Theatre Company. The production will be presented in Rider University’s Yvonne Theatre (2083 Lawrenceville Rd, Lawrence Township) February 24th-26th, 2023 and Passage Theatre’s Mill Hill Playhouse (205 E. Front Street, Trenton) March 10th-12th, 2023.

 



Axelrod PAC presents "Raisin"
 

(DEAL PARK, NJ) -- To mark the 50th anniversary of its 1973 premiere on Broadway, the Axelrod Performing Arts Center will present the musical Raisin from February 24 to March 12. The musical is based on Lorraine Hansberry’s classic A Raisin in the Sun, the story of a Black family's journey to a better life as they aspire to move out of the projects in the Southside of Chicago in the 1950s. Raisin is a poignant reflection on the American Dream. 

 



NJ Rep presents "The Shot" starring Sharon Lawrence
 

(LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- New Jersey Repertory Company will present Robin Gerber’s new play The Shot April 6–23, 2023 in its Studio Theatre. The Shot will star Emmy nominee and Broadway alum Sharon Lawrence (Cabaret, Fiddler on the Roof). Michelle Joyner will direct the production.

Bamboozle Festival to Take Place May 5-7 in Atlantic City
 

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Bamboozle Festival has announced the performers to this year’s line up, who will be taking the stage May 5th, 6th, and 7th at Bader Field in Atlantic City, NJ. The weekend-long party marks the first Bamboozle Festival since 2012, and celebrates 20 years since its initial inception.

“I play guitar as my primary instrument but I grew-up playing the Alto Saxophone and I was really, really good at it; I was like first chair. I loved it but once I picked up guitar, I kind of dropped the saxophone and after I picked up the guitar, I really started focusing on songwriting.”  

 



John Mayer to Kick Off Solo Acoustic Tour at Prudential Center
 

(NEWARK, NJ) -- For the first time in his career, John Mayer has set a groundbreaking solo acoustic tour for spring 2023. 20 years in the making, this tour features solo performances by Mayer, leaning heavily on his acoustic guitar work with special performances on piano and electric guitar, in arenas throughout the U.S. and Canada. Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off Saturday, March 11 in Newark at the Prudential Center and will run through Friday, April 14 in Los Angeles at the iconic Kia Forum.

2023 New Jersey Film Festival Begins This Weekend!!
 

Here below is the Opening Weekend Schedule for the 2023 New Jersey Film Festival. The Festival will be presented online as well as have in-person screenings at Rutgers University. All the films will be available virtually via Video on Demand for 24 hours on their show date. Each General Admission Ticket or Festival Pass purchased is good for both the virtual and the in-person screenings. The in-person screenings will be held in Voorhees Hall #105/Rutgers University, 71 Hamilton Street, New Brunswick, NJ beginning at 5PM or 7PM on their show date. General Admission Ticket=$15 Per Program; Festival All Access Pass=$100; In-Person Only Student Ticket=$10 Per Program.

Ethan Stiefel Brings Internationally Acclaimed Production of "Giselle" to American Repertory Ballet
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- American Repertory Ballet (ARB) presents Ethan Stiefel and Johan Kobborg's internationally acclaimed production of Giselle. Originally created for the Royal New Zealand Ballet under Stiefel's artistic leadership in 2012, Giselle has been restaged and partially redesigned specifically for ARB by the award-winning team of Howard Jones (scenic designer), Natalia Stewart (costume designer), and Joseph R. Walls (lighting designer). Giselle will be performed at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) March 3-5, 2023.

 



"The Night Falls" -- A New Dance-driven Production at PEAK Performances
 

PEAK Performances, together with Ballet Collective Inc., will present the world premiere of The Night Falls, a dance-driven music theater production, in the Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University Feb. 9-12.

The World Comes to Bedminster: The Center for Contemporary Art’s International Juried Exhibition Showcases Works by 50 Artists From Across the Nation and Beyond
 

You could be forgiven for overlooking Isabella King’s contribution to The Center for Contemporary Art’s latest show. Because you may assume that you know exactly what you’re glimpsing out of the corner of your eye as you step off the elevator onto The Center’s polished second floor: a pair of regulation-issue orange traffic cones, a strip of yellow barricade tape draped between them bearing that standard warning - bold, basic, urgent, in two tongues: CAUTION CUIDADO CAUTION CUIDADO.

New Jersey Community Capital Receives $185,000 Grant To Support Inclusive and Equitable Access to Affordable Housing
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC) has been awarded a $185,000 grant from the National Fair Housing Alliance’s (NFHA) Inclusive Communities Fund Grant program to help people access equitable housing opportunities and promote stable, healthy, viable communities. These funds were made available as part of last year’s historic settlement with Fannie Mae that provided $35 million to promote homeownership, neighborhood stabilization, access to credit, property rehabilitation, and residential development.
