"A Christmas Carol" Returns To McCarter Theatre For First Time Since 2019
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- McCarter Theatre Center announces the return of the beloved holiday tradition, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Returning to the McCarter stage for the first time since 2019, the spectacular classic production is adapted and directed by Lauren Keating. Performances at the Matthews Theatre begin December 7-24.

Ocean Casino Resort presents Duran Duran
 

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- British music icons, Duran Duran take the stage on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Ocean Casino Resort's Ovation Hall. The band consists of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor. They are known for their award winning songs such as "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Rio", "Girls on Film" and many more. Showtime is 8:00pm.

 



RVCC Presents Holiday Concert Featuring George W. Michael Jazz Quartet
 

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College’s Arts & Design department will present a holiday performance by the George W. Michael Jazz Quartet, Saturday, December 10 at 6:00pm. The Quartet features musicians George W. Michael, saxophones; Matthew Valerio, piano and vocals; Jesse Breheney, bass; and Tobias Gebb, drums. The event, part of the 2022-2023 season of the MOZAIKA Concert Series, will be held in the Welpe Theatre at the College’s Branchburg campus.

 



"Deep Blue: The Beauty of Our Water World" To Debut Dec. 9th
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Mason Gross School of the Arts is partnering with the Rutgers School of Environmental and Biological Sciences and the Rutgers School of Engineering on a multimedia concert event, Deep Blue: The Beauty of Our Water World, set to debut on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Nicholas Music Center. The concert will feature the Rutgers Wind Ensemble, made up of 54 undergraduate and graduate wind, brass, and percussion students from Mason Gross. Showtime is 7:30pm.

Skinny Amigo to headline annual "Rock the House" Fundraiser to benefit Shore House in Long Branch
 

(LONG BRANCH NJ) -- Shore House, a Monmouth County NJ nonprofit that provides adults living with mental illness with access to educational, social and employment opportunities, is pleased to announce the return of their annual “Rock the House” fundraiser on November 20, 2022 at the Whitechapel Projects in Long Branch.

 



TONEWALL presents Standing Room Only at Berrie Center
 

(MAHWAH, NJ) -- TONEWALL, the charismatic queer a cappella group part of the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, will perform “Standing Room Only” at the Berrie Center for the Arts at Ramapo College on Thursday, December 1 at 8:00pm for a concert full of songs from well-known artists, such as Lizzo, Queen, and Miley Cyrus, and queer icons, like Betty Who, Emeli Sandé, and Alex Newell. The concert is not only a night full of fun, catchy tunes but is also a call to action to audiences to stand with the LGBTQ+ community as a member or ally. Audiences are invited to a meet ‘n’ greet with the group following the show.

New Jersey Ballet Heads in New Directions with "New Direction"
 

A new era begins on Saturday, November 19th, no matter how chilly it gets, for the New Jersey Ballet, the state’s long standing ballet troupe. It will become the resident ballet company of the Mayo Performing Arts center in Morristown, one of the state’s premier theaters.

 



The Adelphi Orchestra Partners with Ballet Arts for "The Nutcracker"
 

(ORADELL, NJ) -- This year, Ballet Arts' annual performance of "The Nutcracker" comes with an early holiday gift – live orchestral music. Ballet Arts, a premiere dance school serving the New York and New Jersey area, is partnering with Adelphi Orchestra for its first-ever ballet with concert musicians. The ballet will be held at River Dell Senior High School (RDHS) on Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th.

The Princeton University Art Museum Reintroduces Its Celebrated American Art Collections in a Boldly Reconsidered Exhibition
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- American art made across four centuries will be the subject of a far-reaching new traveling exhibition organized by the Princeton University Art Museum. Object Lessons in American Art, drawn entirely from the Museum’s venerable collections, presents more than one hundred works of Euro-American, African American, and Native American art, created between the eighteenth century and today, to ask fundamental questions about artistic significance and how meaning changes across time, place, and context.

Grunin Foundation Welcomes Victoria Marie Fernandez, MPA, as Inaugural Director of Thriving Communities
 

​​​​​​​(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Victoria Marie “Vicki” Fernandez (she/her) has been hired as the Director of Thriving Communities at the Grunin Foundation. In this newly created role, Vicki will codesign and implement programming focused on helping members of our nonprofit community and strategic partners achieve their capacity building goals. Ramapo College Announces Dr. Adam Fried As New Assistant Dean of Teacher Education
 

(MAHWAH, NJ) -- Ramapo College of New Jersey has announced that Dr. Adam Fried has accepted the position of Assistant Dean of Teacher Education, effective January 1, 2023.

 



Newton Theatre Awarded Funding For Roof Restoration
 

(NEWTON, NJ) -- Skylands Performing Arts Center (Sky PAC), operating in the historic Newton Theatre, announced it has been awarded $98,500, towards its roof restoration. The reward is made possible by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. Sky PAC, a 501(c) 3 organization, is seeking an additional $22,000 to cover the full amount needed to repair damaged ceilings and walls.
