The Ritz Theatre Company presents "She Loves Me"
 

(HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season already upon us, The Ritz Theatre Company prepares to present the enchanting Golden Age musical She Loves Me, a perfect rom-com show for “the most wonderful time of the year.” Directed and choreographed by Roberta Curless, the production runs at The Ritz from December 2nd through December 18th.

(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center is presenting Real Women Have Curves from November 11-13 at duCret School of the Arts in Plainfield. The play by Josefina López, dramatizes—in a comedy—the struggles of five Mexican immigrants working in a tiny sewing factory in East LA.  Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos.

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Black Box's is currently presenting under-produced masterwork: Edward Albee's The Play About The Baby.  This hysterically funny yet mysterious and poignant play features a young couple and the absurdist interruption when a strange man and woman appear. Performances take place November 10-13, 17-20, 26-27, and December 1-4. All performances are at 8:00pm. Photographer John Posada was on hand to take photos.

MPAC presents Top of the World: A Carpenters Tribute Christmas Show
 

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- The incomparable Carpenters gave us some of the most unforgettable ballads and melodic pop songs of all time, including “Close To You,” “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Rainy Days and Mondays” and “Yesterday Once More.” Enjoy a nostalgic journey through the Carpenters greatest hits as well as holiday favorites like “Merry Christmas Darling” while sharing the backstories behind the music when Top of the World performs at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Sunday, December 4 at 3:00pm. Tickets range from $39-$69.

 



Prudential Center presents Anita Baker
 

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Eight-time Grammy Award-winning superstar Anita Baker, The Songstress, has announced a special run of live dates for 2023. The Songstress’ tour, produced by Live Nation, will bring her to 15 cities kicking off on February 11th at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL making stops across the U.S. in Atlanta, Baltimore, Houston, and more. Locally, her tour comes to the Prudential Center in Newark on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

 



Middletown Arts Center presents "Celebration of Songs: A Tribute to Singer-Songwriter Bob Kasper"
 

(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Middletown Arts Center presents a very special MAC Music Café, Celebration of Songs: A Tribute to Singer-Songwriter Bob Kasper, on Sunday, November 20th from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Kasper, who passed away last October from pancreatic cancer, touched the lives of many in the music community, leaving them with fond memories and a catalog of heartfelt songs. Friends and fellow members of the Singer-Songwriter Scene will gather to celebrate these songs including Bill Anania, Rudy Baker, Christian Beach, Gorgo Beach, Tim Borkovski, Paul During, Linda Eckman, Shelly Hesson, Al Milewski, Barbara Paskin, Frank Patrouch, Bob Savoy and George Wirth.

 



Westminster Conservatory faculty to perform music of Franz Schubert on Nov. 17
 

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- On Thursday, November 17 at 12:15pm, Westminster Conservatory at Nassau will continue with a recital centered on music of Franz Schubert. Three Westminster Conservatory of Music faculty members will perform: pianists Ena Bronstein Barton and Phyllis Alpert Lehrer, and Melissa Bohl, oboe. The recital will take place in the Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street in Princeton. It is open to the public free of charge; masking is optional.

 



Jason Didner to Release “Side Effects” in February 2023
 

Lately, rock singer-songwriter Jason Didner has grown prolific in his songwriting and recording output. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, this artist has released a full-length album and a career-spanning compilation. He has also released six singles and contributed two tracks to charitable albums. 

 



RVCC Chorale to Present Annual Holiday Concert
 

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- The RVCC Chorale will present its annual holiday concert on Sunday, December 4 at 3:00pm. The event will be held in the Welpe Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College’s Branchburg campus.

The Higher to Play Shows in NJ & NY This Week
 

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Higher, a band known for blending and blurring the genre-lines of pop-punk, R&B, and dance-pop, will play have shows on Friday, November 18 at The Saint in Asbury Park and Saturday, November 19 at Brooklyn Monarch. Both shows also include Little Hag, Ghost Club, and Bad Luck.

 



State Theatre and Metropolitan Entertainment present Celebrate the Season with Patti LaBelle
 

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- State Theatre New Jersey and Metropolitan Entertainment present Celebrate the Season with Patti LaBelle on Thursday, December 1 at 8:00pm. The Grammy® Award-winning songstress will be performing holiday classics and her hit songs. Tickets range from $49-$209. 

 



NJ Symphony and Northern New Jersey Musicians Guild Announce Five-year Musicians Contract Agreement
 

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Symphony Board of Trustees and Northern New Jersey Musicians Guild, Local 16-248 of the American Federation of Musicians, have ratified a five-year contract agreement. The agreement comes at the start of the Symphony’s Centennial Season and on the heels of two Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards for New Jersey Symphony concert films produced during the pandemic. The agreement between the New Jersey Symphony and the musicians union is retroactive to September 1, 2022, and runs through August 31, 2027.

 



Plainfield Symphony Pops Concert: "Life is a Cabaret"
 

(PLAINFIELD, NJ) -- The annual Plainfield Symphony Orchestra (PSO) Pops Concert will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Crescent Presbyterian Church in Plainfield.  Under the baton of Maestro Charles Prince, the program will include musical selections from several legendary as well as less-known Broadway musicals along with operetta gems, and operatic favorites. Featured vocal soloists for the evening will be Monica Arnó and Brian Cheney. The concert begins at 7:00pm.
