Warren Community College presents a reading by Poet James Hoch

(WASHINGTON TWP, NJ) -- Highly regarded published poet James Hoch is coming to Warren Community College for a reading on Thursday October 13 as part of the College's Visiting Authors Series. This event, beginning at 7:30pm in room 123A, is free and open to the public. The reading will be followed by a brief Q & A with the audience and a book signing. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

Hoch’s two most recent collections are Last Pawn Shop in New Jersey (Louisiana State University Press) and Radio Static (Green Linden Press). Both were released in Spring 2022. His previous books are Miscreants (Norton) and A Parade of Hands (Silverfish Review Press). His poems have appeared in Poetry, The New Republic, Washington Post, Slate, Chronicle Review of Higher Education, American Poetry Review, New England Review, Kenyon Review, Tin House, Ploughshares, Virginia Quarterly Review and many other magazines. He has received fellowships from the NEA, Bread Loaf and Sewanee writers’ conferences, St Albans School for Boys, The Frost Place and Summer Literary Seminars. He is a Professor of Creative Writing at Ramapo College of NJ and Guest Faculty at Sarah Lawrence College.

The Visiting Authors Series is supported by a grant from the Warren County Division of Cultural & Heritage Affairs. All physical site facilities comply with ADA regulations and are fully accessible. Sign language interpretation for any VAS event is available with two weeks’ notice. 

Warren Community College, located at 475 Route 57 West in Washington, New Jersey, offers students the option of earning an Associate of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, the first and only degree of its kind in New Jersey.
