The Theater Project presents a live ZOOM reading of The Dance Hall by Martin Coren on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 2:00pm. A discussion with the playwright follows the reading. The event is free for all, but registration is required.
It's 1953, Sing Sing Prison: On the eve of their scheduled executions, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg have a visitor -- David Greenglass, Ethel’s brother, who helped the Rosenbergs steal the secret of the atom bomb and then turned against them. David has been flown from the Pennsylvania prison where he’s serving a 15-year sentence to convince Julius to admit his guilt and name other spies, thereby getting the Rosenbergs' sentences commuted. Julius must choose between David’s assurances of a new beginning, and Ethel’s insistence that they remain true to their ideals even if doing so leads to their deaths.
The Friends of the Cranford Public Library invites everyone to attend this live theatrical performance - from the safety and comfort of your living room. New Jersey’s own Theater Project will present a virtual script-in-hand reading of a new original play. The reading will be followed by a question and answer session with the audience, director, playwright and cast. Funds benefiting the Theater Project have been provided by the Friends of the Cranford Public Library.
